Відео та звукове дослідження, здійснене на блошиних ринках та мегаринку в Україні, фіксує середовище, де речі, історії та ідентичності опиняються у стані постійного перерозподілу. Назва проєкту відсилає до практики тотального розпродажу й функціонує як метафора ширших процесів «очищення» в пострадянській Україні. Slinko — міждисциплінарна мисткиня, що виросла в Україні та живе й працює у США. У своїй практиці поєднує дослідження історії, праці, видобутку та ідеології, зосереджуючись на впливі влади на повсякденний досвід і процесах культурного відновлення. TOMORROW! My video Everything Must Go is part of the exhibition «Хмарне сховище» in Kyiv, Opening this Thursday, March 19 , 18:30, Antonovycha St, 102-104, Kyiv, Ukraine. Everything Must Go (2019, 2023) is a project that takes the form of a video and sound fieldwork across several flea markets and one mega market in Ukraine. The title borrows its meaning from a term used by US stores that are going out of business and need all inventory to be cleared out. Serving as a metaphor for the structural and societal clearing out in Post-Soviet Ukraine, Everything Must Go explores historic memory, nationhood, and social relations affected by newly unleashed free market forces. Everything Must Go — це проєкт, що набуває форми відео та звукового польового дослідження, здійсненого на кількох блошиних ринках і одному мегаринку в Україні. Назва запозичує своє значення з виразу, який використовують у США магазини, що закриваються і повинні розпродати весь свій товар. ◼️ In 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲, artist 𝗦𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗼 takes different manifestations and interpretations of Kazymyr Malevych's 𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙎𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙚 – from the early twentieth century to today – as the frame through which to reflect on her home region of Donbas, Ukraine. Through a constellation of text, image, archive and a beer named 'Hell', 𝗦𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗼 considers questions of representation, abstraction and value in the context of ongoing imperial destruction. I’m part of this little treasure “As if nothing could fall: essays on monuments”. When I first saw these colored books in Dublin’s beloved shop Books Upstairs, i was taken by their simple form and rich content. Never did i think my piece written at IMMA would end up in one of them. This is too cool.
