Another successful year in the Dance Program! Samanvita Kasthuri MFA ‘27 is asking students and faculty their favorite classes, moments, and dance studios on campus🤍💚 Yesterday we celebrated the end of the 2025 - 2026 academic year with our annual Dance Picnic! Check out the most recent episode of SLC Transcript Review (link in bio) featuring Dahlia Shepherd ‘26 and Dance Program Director, John Jasperse ’85! In this episode, Dahlia and John explore how dance at Sarah Lawrence connects creative practice with professional experience. Through the Open Performance program, Dahlia collaborated with visiting artists, gaining a behind-the-scenes view of how a dance company works. Alongside studying movement theory, creating choreography, and analyzing performance, she found a strong sense of community and purpose—culminating in what she describes as “seeing the birth of something,” bringing an original work to life from concept to performance.

Join SLC Dance on Tuesday, March 31st at 1:35 pm in the Miller Lecture Hall for a screening of All The Ladies Say, a documentary film on female breakers.    At this very special Dance Meeting, celebrating the end of Women’s History Month, we will be screening All The Ladies Say, a documentary film by Spring 2026 Guest Dance Faculty Ana “Rokafella” Garcia. A Q+A with April Reynolds Mosolino will follow! This event is open to the SLC Community.    Veteran b-girl Ana “Rokafella” Garcia’s first documentary film All The Ladies Say features the work of female breakdancers in the United States, including Aiko, Baby Love, Beta, Lady Champ, Severe and Vendetta. This film raises awareness of the female presence in Hip-hop and promotes the growth of this dance community in the United States and internationally. Discussions about femininity, motherhood and the representation of women in popular culture are a few of the themes explored by the dancers. Want to learn more about the film? Visit /.
