in january, my absolute dream group aka @gracebethune @sophia.pielet and @jackrandel agreed to spend one billion hours in the studio with me creating a work inspired by a rear view mirror, some memories, and a fiddle tune. then I decided the entire thing needed to have live music, and luckily knew the coolest musicians in the world aka @lucakevorkian @er.cakremer and my very own dad. 6 months later after much laughter and tears, we performed it at lincoln center for an audience packed full of family and friends, and i really couldn’t imagine a more special weekend. this was no easy feat, and i am simply in awe of these incredible people.❤️ biggest love all around!!!! that was fun let’s do it again

ARTSWRKER SPOTLIGHT ⭐️ Skyler Herrick @skyherrick (she/her) is a New York City–based dancer, choreographer, educator, and vocalist working in both contemporary and commercial forms. She was a 2025 Kenan Fellow at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts @lincolncenter and is a 2023 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts @uncsadance . Some of Skyler’s recent performance credits include Lone Star Love: The Musical (Randy Skinner), Umbrella Academy (John Heginbotham), Book of Stones (Christian Denice), Close to Home Concert (Forager Theatre Company), After Hours (Madi Hicks), and Sail Away (Treehouse Shakers). She recently premiered her evening-length work with live music, Rear View Mirror, at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. She is a teaching artist at National Dance Institute, co-facilitates ballet workshops for individuals with memory loss, and is a private lesson instructor in ballet, contemporary, jazz, and voice. ✨ Here’s why Skyler is excited about a platform that innovates work for artists: “As a freelance artist in New York, I’m constantly piecing together my days and wearing many hats. I’m excited about a platform that innovates work for artists because navigating opportunities and getting your foot in the door at new studios can be daunting. Artswrk makes it easier for educators to connect and find opportunities that fit their schedule, even at the last minute. At its core, it’s a simple idea—artists supporting artists—but one that can make a real difference in how we work and thrive.” Join or hire Skyler on Artswrk! #Artswrker #Artist #Dancer #DanceEducator #Choreographer Vocalist

We’re taking a look back at this summer’s In:Formation Festival, the capstone projects of this year’s William R. Kenan, Jr. Fellowship cohort. The program included: • Rear View Mirror - Directed and choreographed by @skyherrick • The Newcomer - Produced, directed, and animated by @annetteeunkyoung • Truly Ours, From Within: an exploration of feelings and time- Directed, produced, and conceived by @alexandrablainecreates • Rust: Brazilian songs reimagined - Curated and arranged by @lucakevorkian The William R. Kenan, Jr. Fellowship is designed to bridge the gap between conservatory training and a professional arts community in NYC for recent graduates of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. While at Lincoln Center, the Fellows have opportunities to develop and strengthen skills as arts educators while building relationships across our organization and the wider arts landscape. 📸: @erinpatriceobrien
