Who would you like to see added to the series? I’d love to revisit an abandoned K-2SO portrait I started shortly after Rogue One came out. My white whale is Sebastian Shaw Vader with his helmet off. Scout Trooper would be fun to try and figure out but a lot of the details in the helmet are shielded. Royal Guard is similarly weird in profile but I love that design so much.
Had so much fun designing these portraits back in 2014. Not so much fun finishing them. I got it in my head that I needed to make 50 portraits. I did it, but it required an effort that had me straight up miserable. Questioning everything about my chosen career. Months of continuous focus and no time for myself. First time I walked away from something work related with lasting injury. I was averaging one portrait in under 3 days, which I couldn’t even imagine having to do one at that pace right now. My process and approach to work is much different than those days.
I still look at it all as necessary to get where I am now, so it’s hard to feel regret or imagine a different path. I learned a lot about myself in the process. It made some things crystal clear in fact.
Fun fact: Nothing of mine gets more bootlegged than these Marvel portraits.
Happy 4th of May. Which Star Wars character is the most nostalgic for you? For me it’s Greedo. Followed closely by Jawas, Boushh Leia and C-3PO. Shout out to Han and Luke in Stormtrooper armor.

In honor of the president threatening to exterminate an entire country I took a stroll through the comments on some very old posts of mine which were desperately trying to warn people that Donnie Diapers is a very bad man.
