At Sirikoi, Earth Day isn’t a one-day event, it is our way of life.
We’ve always believed that luxury doesn’t have to come at the expense of the land. It’s why we are so proud to be a member of The Long Run, a global community of like-minded places dedicated to the “4Cs”: Conservation, Community, Culture, and Commerce.
For us, sustainability isn’t about ticking boxes; it’s about the small, wins that happen behind the scenes: from the organic garden that supplies us with fresh fruits and vegetables to our solar plant that keeps us running quietly and cleanly, to carefully managing every drop of water to glass recycling and engaging our community etc.
Being part of The Long Run means we’re constantly learning how to be better custodians for this landscape. When you sit on the deck and watch the elephants at the watering hole, you’re seeing the result of a very long, very dedicated journey to keep this corner of the world wild.
Today, we’re celebrating the hands that work the soil, the rangers who protect the plains, and the guests who join us in this mission.

We caught the sweetest moment on camera — a cheetah mum and her four cubs exploring the open plains of Lewa.
Spot how the cheetah cubs actually look a bit like honey badgers when they’re young. One theory is that their fluffy grey coats help fool predators into thinking they’re dealing with one of the toughest animals in the wild. This clever evolutionary trick is known as Batesian mimicry.

We were honoured to host the regional AGM for @thelongrunorg at Sirikoi — bringing together passionate leaders and changemakers committed to conservation, community, culture, and commerce.
This year’s theme was ‘Beyond sustainability: Protecting what matters while adapting to change.’ From insightful discussions around sustainable tourism to early morning game drives and fireside conversations, it was a reminder of the power of collaboration and the importance of creating impact that lasts far beyond the safari experience.
Thank you to everyone who travelled from near and far to be part of it. Hosting this gathering in a place we care so deeply about made it all the more special.

Safari has a wonderful way of reconnecting you with nature’s rhythm. Sometimes the wildlife disappears into the landscape, rain settles softly over camp, and the experience quietly asks you to slow down and appreciate being still.
Honestly, moments like this are just as much a part of safari as the sightings themselves.
