Immense gratitude and infinite thanks to the entire @pixelmouthnyc team and @graceexhibitionspace for giving me an opportunity to create this work.
“Not My Teeth” was an installation of photo-sculptures about a sense of dissonance that pervades my life. Intense familial trauma and an unresolved relationship with my own anatomy drive me to make imagery where reality is obscured, and manipulating photographs of my teeth into jarring sculptures captures the sensitivity and self-scrutiny I experience daily. A seemingly healthy but rearranged mouth conveys the discrepancy between my outer appearance and my mangled inner life, while evoking the scary, captivating, and beautiful felt sensation of it.
Thank you to @maxw_lf@becsteighner@baroque_hoe@secondmoonbeam for assistance with de/install. Thank you to everyone who came to see the show. Thank you to anyone and everyone who supports and encourages me.
G is dedicated to my late older sister. After eight years the horror of her death still haunts me daily, but I’ve become pro at masking the toll it takes. Complicating my own flesh tattooed with her initial embodies this dissonance between my inner life and my outer appearance.

Gloomy Day is a rumination on a somber summer. Through a blue sky the heat wages a solemn maze, and a sharp sorrow screens out the sun’s cheer.
