Gosh it’s been a hot minute since I posted any singing! Let’s just say some ✨amazing✨ lessons from @londonsongbird and @thegentlevoice.studio are kicking in and all I’m hearing right now is flaws… 😮‍💨 But that’s part of the process, so here’s some more imperfect singing! ⭐️ ‘Maybe’ from Annie has lived in my head rent free since I was like 8 👶 ⭐️ I love the soaring note progression and how a seemingly simple song captures so many feels ❤️ ⭐️ This is from a recent @musicall.ldn workshop where @norassic_park and @londonsongbird pushed me to be in the moment - I felt awkward cos I hate being vulnerable 💔 ⭐️ But look what came out! Alright, another #throwbackthursday cos this week I’m working on ✨resonance✨and this clip has good bits and bad! . This is from last Halloween, a wee rendition of ‘Seggsy’ (😅) from Mean Girls at @overturesldn before it was @musicall.ldn at @princeofwalescoventgarden and featuring @thejackgregsonshow (hi Jack 👋) ⭐️ I cut the start cos it was a little too pitchy 😅 ⭐️ By the end there are a few moments of nice resonance (and several without 😂) ⭐️ Crucially, this time I leaned into the acting. The second I stopped worrying about singing, things felt waaaay easier. Happy Saturday! Had to post cos I feel really proud - just had a singing lesson with @thegentlevoice.studio where we focused on relaxing the tension in my tongue, jaw and breathing (which I didn’t realise looked so sexy 💃🏻😂) and after a few simple exercises things feel loosey goosey baby 🤩 Thank you!! This week @musicall.ldn did choir and a singing workshop, coached by @londonsongbird and hosted by @thejackgregsonshow wooo 🥳 I had a go at a song I’ve been working on for aaages but never cracked: ‘She Used to be Mine’ from @waitressmusical it was SO fun (even though I accidentally licked Liv 😅) ⭐️ I’ve been trying and failing to belt this song without straining so recently switched to singing it in my mix (I think!) ⭐️ Liv fixed this within 5 minutes with some simple exercises and this was the result! 🤩 ⭐️ Need to keep practising of course (esp letting that jaw hang!!) but not a bad start! . 📸 courtesy of @thejackgregsonshow thank you!
