With the work evolving over the period of a year, ‘Come out of the darkness’ is a multi medium installation which plays with and responds to site, in this case a working studio. It incorporates and reflects on ideas of ritual, escape, transcendence and transformation. The work speculates on meeting points between the human made and natural systems, their entanglement, sometimes in harmony, sometimes in tension. Whilst the work alludes to both the past and the now, through resolutely revelling in both the spatial and psychological blurring of divisions, it also explores and speculates on alternate futures.

Some wonderful images of my work by @jamesklclarkson which featured in a one day exhibition/intervention 'Hammer, Anvil, Stirrup' @henrymooreinstitute research library in December. The intervention marked the culmination of an inspiring number of months participating @ysi_sculpture as one of the 15 selected artists for 2025. I loved every minute and feel privileged to have met and worked with such interesting and talented other artists (last pic in series). The programme was also wonderfully steered and organised by Marion Harrison @workingouttheformat and Ella Cronk @ellacronk to which huge gratitude is due.
A publication of the 'Hammer, Anvil, Stirrup' project will be published in the spring .

One of the absolute highlights of the year was to be selected to be part of @ysi_sculpture 2025. The programme, which culminated with a one day intervention @henrymooreinstitute library 'Hammer, Anvil, Stirrup' provided an opportunity to meet and work with 14 other artists from the Yorkshire region. Friendships have been formed and future collaborations are brewing. The programme was wonderfully steered by Marion Harrison @workingouttheformat and Ella Cronk @ellacronk for which huge gratitude is due. Thank you also to all the partner organisations @henrymooreinstitute@hepworthwakefield@thearthouseuk@yspsculpture . A publication linked to the 'Hammer, Anvil, Stirrup' project is due to be published next spring.
