New on Umor Rex — Very excited to announce “Solo suono”, the first collaboration between Italian musicians Filippo Ansaldi (saxophone) and Simone Sims Longo (electronics). [Catalog UR160] Now available for pre-order on cassette and digital via
@anostanost and our Bandcamp. Release date: January 6, though it’s very likely we’ll ship earlier.
Meanwhile, listen to the first track “Dodici” on Bandcamp and all digital platforms.
“Solo suono” is an album that moves between acoustic gesture and electronic treatment, rooted in the classical but expanding beyond it. Through breath, amplified mechanics, residual sounds, loops, electronic processes, jazz inflections, and concrete explorations, it blurs the line between organic and synthetic, focusing on subtle timbral shifts and evolving patterns.
Fragile and immersive, the music creates a space where performance and electronic manipulation coexist. Solo Suono is a phrase open to multiple interpretations, a simple and naïve description of music.
