Im super excited to be joining @futureofspace.io as their Featured Artist on their Galapagos expedition in November, together with my love @gmunk , as well as @neildegrassetyson , @kathysullivanastronaut , @chaivasarhelyi , @pauloakenfold and more. Tiger mom - Process Video
I started on a 16 x 20” canvas
This is the loose sketch
I printed the sketch to size
Cut out the main shapes
Mapped them on the canvas
Lightly traced them
I added a bright red underpainting
Then I blocked out the main color values
Washed it out quite a bit - I wanted it to feel foggy, like motherhood often does
Added back more contrast
More color
Final details
Added the marks on the side representing each time I was interrupted for child purposes
And voila - the finished piece
