RANT INCOMING. It’s time for some hard truths with @simonemuscat.physio : Hypermobility and connective tissue disorders are still barely taught in healthcare degrees. 😡 At best? A quick mention. Maybe the Beighton score. At worst? Nothing at all. Across 9+ years of study, I was never properly taught how to recognise or manage conditions like hEDS. 🤯 And that has consequences. I still think about a patient from early in my career. Complex symptoms. Constant pain. No clear answers. She was passed between professionals, dismissed because her scans didn’t “explain” her symptoms, and eventually lost access to care altogether. We were all trying - but we didn’t have the knowledge. Now? I see it differently. I understand what we were missing. And I know how much more we could have done. That’s the part that stays with you. I will never forget this patient. This isn’t about blame - it’s about a gap in education that still exists. And it needs to change. Because people with hypermobility don’t just need to be recognised. They need to be understood, supported, and managed properly. 💜 We need healthcare professionals who don’t just spot the “zebra”… but actually know what to do next. 🦓 #thepolephysio #polephysio #poledance #poledancer #aerial #cirque #polesport #poletraining #polestrength #poleconditioning #poletutorial #polefitness #polefit #polestrong #polelife #poletips #poledancenation #poledancersofig #polescience #poledancersofinsta

Because let’s be honest - most pole dancers know they should be strength training. But figuring out what to do, how to structure it, and whether it will actually help your pole progress?
That’s where most people get stuck. So they either:

❌ or train in ways that leave them more fatigued than stronger We’ve changed that. Our expert-built follow along style 12-week gym programs are designed specifically for pole and aerial athletes to help you build real, transferable strength that supports your training. Think:
💪 stronger inversions
💪 better shoulder engagement
💪 better active flexibility
💪 increased control in your shapes
💪 an overall stronger, more resilient body for pole No guesswork.
No random exercises.
Just structured weekly programming inside our app, with support from our Strength & Conditioning coach every step of the way. Choose between a 2 day or 3 day split to suit your training needs! 🙌 If you’re ready to stop guessing and start training with purpose… Comment POLESTRONG (one word) and we’ll send you the details 💪💥

Just here to remind you… most healthcare professionals don’t actually get what your body does. 🤷‍♀️ Pole dancers aren’t “just flexible.” We’re athletes, artists, and full-time gravity testers - defying physics on the daily whilst spinning around a metal vertical rod. So yes, we deserve healthcare that speaks our language. 💜 Healthcare that knows what it takes to keep us climbing, spinning, and inverting - not sidelined. Because your body isn’t ordinary. And neither should your care be. Look for the extraordinary. Work with the Pole Physio team. I’m going to let you in on a little secret! 🤫 Your ankles do way more than just hold you up - they control your balance, power, and precision… especially with heel and edgework. Training ankle strength is the key to: 💜 cleaner lines 💜 improved technique 💜 reduced injury risk Stronger ankles = more confidence in heels. Train them, and watch your confidence in heels skyrocket 👠 #thepolephysio #polephysio #poledance #poledancer #aerial #cirque #polesport #poletraining #polestrength #poleconditioning #poletutorial #polefitness #polefit #polestrong #polelife #poletips #poledancenation #poledancersofig #polescience #poledancersofinsta

Polers, listen up 👂 Train to pole — don’t just pole to train. If your strength, control, and endurance only comes from class, you’re leaving progress on the table. Skills won’t catch up to your potential if your body isn’t ready for them. Cross-training off the pole = faster skill mastery, stronger holds, smoother transitions, and less injury. Want to nail that trick? Move with more control? It starts off the pole. 🏋️‍♂️ The smarter you train, the faster you level up. Your pole practice becomes precision work, not a guessing game. Stop relying on the pole to build you. Build your body first. Then you’ll find yourself dominating every spin, climb, and invert. 💪 #thepolephysio #polephysio #poledance #poledancer #aerial #cirque #polesport #poletraining #polestrength #poleconditioning #poletutorial #polefitness #polefit #polestrong #polelife #poletips #poledancenation #poledancersofig #polescience #poledancersofinsta

No one prepares you for the emotional freefall that can happen after a pole competition 🌀 The lights fade, the adrenaline drops, the routine is over… and suddenly the thing that consumed your life for weeks (or months) is gone. If you’ve ever felt flat, lost, unmotivated, or overwhelmed after competing — you’re not dramatic, you’re not ungrateful, and you’re definitely not alone. This is post-competition blues, and it’s something so many polers experience but rarely talk about. Your body has shifted out of routine, your brain is recalibrating, and the emotional crash can feel brutal. But there are ways to navigate it — and it starts with awareness, compassion, and support. Swipe through for what post-comp blues can look like, why it happens, and what can actually help. 💜 And remember: Your value isn’t measured in placements. Stepping on stage is already extraordinary. If you’re struggling after a competition and need support with training, recovery, or mental load, our team is here for you. You don’t have to do this alone. 💜 Work with our online psychologist to shift your mindset and improve your overall health and happiness with competing #thepolephysio #postcompblues #polecomp #poledancersofinstagram #polecommunity

You do not need to stop pole dancing when you have an injury! Yes - you read that right! 🤯I njuries are unfortunately a common occurrence in the world of pole dance, but when an injury strikes you don’t have to be out for the count. Instead, by seeing a great therapist that also understands pole dance you can get back doing what you love quicker. So if you’re seeing a medical professional for a musculoskeletal injury and they’re telling you to stop pole and exercise completely… it’s time to get yourself a new health care provider! 👀 Comment REHAB to chat with us about working with our online team 💜 #thepolephysio #polephysio #poledance #poledancer #aerial #cirque #polesport #poletraining #polestrength #poleconditioning #poletutorial #polefitness #polefit #polestrong #polelife #poletips #poledancenation #poledancersofig #polescience #poledancersofinsta
