Thereâs a big difference between being able to do a move and being able to teach it.
So many of us perform on autopilot. Our body learns a movement pattern and we stop consciously thinking about whatâs actually happening inside the movement. Youâve probably heard the term âmuscle memoryâ before.
But teaching requires something deeper.
It requires awareness.
The ability to break down how a movement works - what the body is doing, where engagement is happening, how weight is shifting, what points of contact create stability, and most importantly, what the movement actually feels like inside the body.
That is how you begin to truly relate to your students and start to cue sensations instead of just shapes.
One of the most valuable skills you can develop as an instructor is conscious proprioception - being fully present in your own body as you move, even through the tricks that feel easy to you now.
Because when you can truly feel and understand a movement, you can explain it more clearly, troubleshoot it more effectively, and teach it more safely.
At Pole Movement, we cover over 100 pole moves inside the course - but more importantly, we teach you how to think like a teacher.
New moves will always exist. Trends will change. But the ability to analyse movement, break things down, and teach mindfully? Thatâs what creates a great instructor. đ§Ą
Whatâs one move you can do⌠but struggle to explain? đ

Itâs a common misconception that you need years of experience to become a pole instructor.
And yesâexperience matters. You canât replace time spent on the pole.
But experience alone isnât what makes a great teacher.
You could be training for years and still not know how to break down movements, spot safely, or communicate technique in a way that actually helps someone improve.
Thatâs where education comes in.
Knowledge is what builds confident, capable instructors.
At Pole Movement, we give you the tools to teach, not just performâso you can support your students with clarity, structure, and purpose.
Because being a great instructor isnât about how long youâve been doing pole⌠itâs about how well you understand it. â¨

The moment anatomy clicks⌠your teaching levels up instantly.
You stop seeing âa messy invert.â
You start seeing:
⢠shoulder stability
⢠core engagement
⢠hip positioning
⢠load distribution
You know what to fix.
You know how to cue it.
You know how to help that student in that body.
Thatâs the power of pole-specific biomechanics.
And itâs a core part of how we train instructors.

𧥠Ayesha Broken Doll đ§Ą
Letâs break down some key alignment points for this beautiful Ayesha variation.
Because the body is closer to the pole and you have more points of contact, this can actually feel like a much more accessible modification of the Ayesha. More contact = more passive security.
You can transition into this from your Ayesha, or for a slightly easier option, move into it from a Hang Glider (swipe right for an extract from our training manual where we break that down step by step).
This is a little sneak peek of chapter 22 of our 200-hour teacher training â where we break down hundreds of movements just like this.
Over 600 pages of the theory, technique, cueing, and progressions you need to become a confident, knowledgeable pole instructor.
If youâre ready to deepen your understanding and teach with clarity and confidence â the link is in our bio đ§Ą
