Online treatment- READ THE CAPTION before commenting! 💜 Wondering how we do the treatment part of an online consult? Check out this quick overview! âŹ‡ïž It’s important to note that we have nothing against hands on treatment. There is value in hands on therapies. BUT they shouldn’t be the ONLY thing done in a session, and we have lots of tricks you can use yourself to provide pain relief that are equally as effective as manual therapy. đŸ€Ż Online treatment also doesn’t exclude you from having hands on therapy in conjunction. If we think you’d benefit from a massage or some joint mobilisations, we will happily refer you and work alongside an in-person health care provider. đŸ‘©â€âš•ïž Having said that, a lot of the time the main factors ensuring full recovery can be done solely online! We ONLY treat polers and aerialists, so seeing us means we have a huge amount of education and experience in this area, where most physios see a huge variety of things (props to all the physios out there- there’s a lot of topics to keep up to date with working in a broader scope!) We are so proud of our patients when they recover (and they absolutely do!), because they learn from us, make changes, do the work, and turn out stronger and more capable than pre-injury. Shout out to all our past and current patients out there smashing it- we love you đŸ’œđŸ„ł #thepolephysio #polephysio #poledance #poledancer #aerial #cirque #polesport #poletraining #polestrength #poleconditioning #poletutorial #polefitness #polefit #polestrong #polelife #poletips #poledancenation #poledancersofig #polescience #poledancersofinsta

Do you find the concept of online physiotherapy odd? It may come as a surprise to know that you’re not the only one! 🙊 Check out this video for a super quick overview of some of the tools we have for assessing you in our Telehealth (online) consults. Interestingly, there is no difference in how we assess someone online as how we would in person, as evidence and experience shows us there are many amazing ways we can assess injuries online just as effectively as in person. đŸ€Ż The Pole Physio is an online only clinic so we can service the wider pole dancing community with the most knowledgeable pole dancing clinicians worldwide, whilst keeping our appointments incredibly affordable for you! 💃 And we’re so lucky to have such a wonderful population to treat that makes this possible. đŸ„° Polers and aerialists generally: 💜 Are active people. They know how to move. 💜 Are used to taking instruction. You’re used to being taught new movements and trying them out. 💜 Want to learn. You want to know what’s wrong, how to fix it, how to get your trick, or how to not let this injury happen again. 💜 Have the capacity to listen to their body and communicate what they feel. 💜 Are proactive. You want to get better, because you don’t want to be stuck not being able to train! Curious to see how we work? Try us out 😉. We always want the best possible care for our patients, so rest assured if there is something we just can’t fully assess or treat online (exceptionally rare), we will refer you onto the best person in your area for further treatment with complete assessment and handover. So what are you waiting for?! Book with our amazing team via the link in our bio. 🔗 #thepolephysio #polephysio #poledance #poledancer #aerial #cirque #polesport #poletraining #polestrength #poleconditioning #poletutorial #polefitness #polefit #polestrong #polelife #poletips #poledancenation #poledancersofig #polescience #poledancersofinsta

We know a lot of you have been following us for a while but are not convinced that Telehealth (online) consults would work for you. đŸ€” And we do understand people’s confusion about how it can work- it seems strange in a world where we’re used to making an in-person appointment and expecting that being touched has to be a part of getting better. đŸ€• In the coming weeks, we’ll be running you through how a rehab for injuries works over Telehealth with us. We’re hoping this series will give you a much better idea on how our appointments run, and how we support clients with rehab for injuries from afar! đŸ€— Now, we aren’t saying online consults are the only way to go, but they do have their advantages! Choosing to see us online also doesn’t mean you can’t go have a massage or some hands-on treatment when it’s appropriate either! We work collaboratively with all types of health care providers to support our patients needs 😊 If you’ve been putting off having your injury looked at or you’re not quite getting to 100% with traditional treatments, take the leap and book with us (link in bio). We promise you won’t regret it! 💜 #thepolephysio #polephysio #poledance #poledancer #aerial #cirque #polesport #poletraining #polestrength #poleconditioning #poletutorial #polefitness #polefit #polestrong #polelife #poletips #poledancenation #poledancersofig #polescience #poledancersofinsta

Whilst early stage injury management may involve assessment and treatment utilising a plinth, if you stay stuck on a treatment bed with your healthcare professional - then you’re not being prepared for pole and are setting yourself up for re-injury. đŸ€• Pole dancers are high level athletes. The demands on your body are significant, and your rehab needs to reflect that. If your clinician isn’t progressively loading you, challenging your strength, and building your capacity before returning to pole, then they are doing you a disservice. ❌ Pole dancers place incredible amounts of stress on their bodies. Rehab should match that. It should be progressive, it should be challenging, and it should build you back to the level your sport requires—not just get you out of pain. Because when rehab falls short, it’s the athlete who pays the price. We see it all the time - returning too early, not strong enough, and ending up back where they started (or worse). Having a physio that understands pole is great. But are they a good physio? Do they understand strength and conditioning? Are they well equipped to get you back where you need to be? đŸ€” This isn’t about doing more exercise for the sake of it - it’s about doing what actually prepares you for pole. So get off that plinth as soon as you can. If your rehab doesn’t replicate the demands of pole, it’s worth asking why. ✹ #thepolephysio #polephysio #poledance #poledancer #aerial #cirque #polesport #poletraining #polestrength #poleconditioning #poletutorial #polefitness #polefit #polestrong #polelife #poletips #poledancenation #poledancersofig #polescience #poledancersofinsta

🚹 YOU ASKED. WE LISTENED. 🚹 Our BRAND NEW 2 Day Full Body Gym Program is officially here đŸ’„ So many of you asked for a full body training option and we heard. A simple, effective way to build strength for pole by training your whole body across two sessions each week. Because let’s be honest. Most pole dancers know they *should* be strength training

Our new 12 week 2 Day Full Body Program helps you build real transferable strength for pole. Think đŸ’Ș stronger inversions đŸ’Ș better shoulder engagement đŸ’Ș more active flexibility đŸ’Ș increased control đŸ’Ș a stronger more resilient body We also offer a 2 Day Upper/Lower Split and a 3 Day Push/Pull/Legs Split, with core training included in every program. Expertly built inside our app with structured weekly progressions and support from our Strength and Conditioning coach every step of the way. No guesswork. Just training that works. People often assume dietitians just write meal plans. đŸ„Ł But when you work with medical conditions, injuries, hormones, GI issues, fatigue and high training loads
nutrition becomes much more complex than that. đŸ«š A big part of my job is understanding why symptoms are happening, and helping people fuel their bodies in a way that supports recovery, performance and everyday life. It’s part physiology, part investigation, and part counselling. This Dietitians’ Week I’m proud to be part of a profession that works at the intersection of science, behaviour and care. 💜 #thepolephysio #polephysio #poledance #poledancer #aerial #cirque #polesport #poletraining #polestrength #poleconditioning #poletutorial #polefitness #polefit #polestrong #polelife #poletips #poledancenation #poledancersofig #polescience #poledancersofinsta

RANT INCOMING. It’s time for some hard truths with @simonemuscat.physio : Hypermobility and connective tissue disorders are still barely taught in healthcare degrees. 😡 At best? A quick mention. Maybe the Beighton score. At worst? Nothing at all. Across 9+ years of study, I was never properly taught how to recognise or manage conditions like hEDS. đŸ€Ż And that has consequences. I still think about a patient from early in my career. Complex symptoms. Constant pain. No clear answers. She was passed between professionals, dismissed because her scans didn’t “explain” her symptoms, and eventually lost access to care altogether. We were all trying - but we didn’t have the knowledge. Now? I see it differently. I understand what we were missing. And I know how much more we could have done. That’s the part that stays with you. I will never forget this patient. This isn’t about blame - it’s about a gap in education that still exists. And it needs to change. Because people with hypermobility don’t just need to be recognised. They need to be understood, supported, and managed properly. 💜 We need healthcare professionals who don’t just spot the “zebra”
 but actually know what to do next. 🩓 #thepolephysio #polephysio #poledance #poledancer #aerial #cirque #polesport #poletraining #polestrength #poleconditioning #poletutorial #polefitness #polefit #polestrong #polelife #poletips #poledancenation #poledancersofig #polescience #poledancersofinsta

Most people who come to see me are working incredibly hard. 😼‍💹 They’re training regularly, managing symptoms like fatigue or GI distress, and often living with complex medical conditions such as EDS or hypermobility. But many have been told — directly or indirectly — that the solution is simply to eat less and train harder. đŸ˜© In clinic, I often see the opposite problem. Bodies that are working hard, under significant training load or physiological stress, but are unintentionally under-fuelled. This can show up as: 💜 fatigue before the end of the day 💜 poor recovery 💜 GI symptoms 💜 low motivation or brain fog These aren’t signs of laziness or lack of discipline. They’re signals. As a dietitian, my role isn’t just to write meal plans. It’s to understand the context of your training, symptoms and physiology so we can build nutrition that actually supports your body. If this sounds familiar, you can book an appointment through the link in my bio. 🔗 This Dietitians’ Week, I’m proud to practise in a way that meets bodies where they are, not where generic advice thinks they should be. #thepolephysio #polephysio #poledance #poledancer #aerial #cirque #polesport #poletraining #polestrength #poleconditioning #poletutorial #polefitness #polefit #polestrong #polelife #poletips #poledancenation #poledancersofig #polescience #poledancersofinsta

🧊 SHOULD YOU ICE DURING CLASS? Short answer: No. Here's the scenario: You're mid-class, something feels off after a trick—not injured enough to stop, but uncomfortable enough that you want to do something. Your instinct might be to grab an ice pack. Resist. What to do instead: 1. Identify what movements aggravate it 2. Modify around the discomfort—different grip, different entry, reduced range 3. Pivot to a completely different focus if needed (flexibility work, floorwork, conditioning that avoids the area) 4. When in doubt, reach out to us! 📅 But wait—what about ACTUAL injuries? If you DO sustain an acute injury, "just ice it" is outdated advice. The current evidence-based framework is PEACE & LOVE (Dubois & Esculier, 2020 - British Journal of Sports Medicine): PEACE (immediate management) đŸ”č Protect – unload/restrict movement initially đŸ”č Elevate – above heart level when possible đŸ”č Avoid anti-inflammatories – yes, including ice. Inflammation is part of healing. đŸ”č Compress – reduce swelling mechanically đŸ”č Educate – trust the process, avoid over-treatment LOVE (after the first days) đŸ”č Load – let pain guide gradual return to movement đŸ”č Optimism – mindset matters for recovery outcomes đŸ”č Vascularization – pain-free cardio promotes blood flow đŸ”č Exercise – progressively restore mobility, strength & proprioception The takeaway: Ice isn't evil, but it's not the hero we once thought. Your body's inflammatory response exists for a reason—don't reflexively suppress it. Questions? That's what we're here for. #thepolephysio #polephysio #poledance #poledancer #aerial #cirque #polesport #poletraining #polestrength #poleconditioning #poletutorial #polefitness #polefit #polestrong #polelife #poletips #poledancenation #poledancersofig #polescience #poledancersofinsta
