This weekend the Monaco E-Prix (electric Formula E) is taking place (1). On April 26 the Monaco Historique Grand Prix of vintage cars took place (2). All of this is the prelude to the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix that will take place on June 7. It is fascinating to compare the noise of the E-Prix (1) which is only caused by the tires of the fully electric racing cars and the noise of the racing cars propelled by petrol engines (2). The Formula 1 racing cars that will compete in the F1 Grand Prix have hybrid turbocharged petrol engines which make a beautiful roaring sound. Georg Baselitz Eroi d’Oro is the poignant exhibition of the master’s last paintings currently held at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice. The gold background, the black outlines of the full length figures, which with the exception of one self portrait, are of his wife and life long partner Elke and the de Kooningesque explosions of colorful brushstrokes make them a glorious end to the stellar career of the great master.
