Facebook memories just told me and @yermatty were sat outside in the cold talking about the Bill to ban conversion practices that was already overdue six years ago. Six years later it is even more overdue and as part of the @banconversionpractices coalition @stonewalluk remains determined to ensure a fully inclusive ban for the whole LGBTQ+ community. No ifs, just when #BanConversionPractices Groundhog day you say.

Photos have just come through from an evening speaking all things #LGBTQ+ @cambridgeunion with @charlie_craggs @ladyphyll and @jan.gooding.11 . The time spent with these brilliant advocates, friends and champions at a historic venue talking about progress, problems and possibilities has definitely been a peak evening event of 2026 so far.

๐ŸŒ The ILGA-Europe Rainbow Map ranks the legal and policy landscape for #LGBTQ+ people across Europe. ๐ŸšจThe latest rankings, released today, show the UK has dropped a further 2% since last year, remaining at its lowest-ever position: 22nd out of 49 countries. ILGA-Europe has highlighted three key actions needed to improve the situation for LGBTQ+ people in the UK: - Ensure timely and accessible trans-specific healthcare - Ensure trans people can access effective legal gender recognition - Ban conversion practices These declining rankings should serve as a wake-up call for the British government. LGBTQ+ communities need more than promises, we need action. Read the full report through the link in our bio

๐ŸŽ As the Badminton Horse Trials come to a close today, @SimonaBlake reflects on Rainbow Laces and why creating spaces where LGBTQ+ people feel they belong matters. Rainbow Laces is building a visible network of inclusion across sport, exercise and everyday movement, because when people see signs of welcome, they feel more confident to take part. I had the privilege of being CEO @mhfaengland from 2018 - 2024 (those pandemic years were definitely a bit tummy turning as a social enterprise!). From day one in the job I believed we could work together to elevate the impact of MHFA as a global movement. So imagine the joy of joining the Board of Mental Health First Aid International last year. Normally I rock up at my home desk in my shirt on top, PJs on the bottom at 5am, but this week was different. This week it was important to be in the actual room with everyone for our strategy and planning workshop. Yes it took 2 days to get here and now 4 days later I am back sitting in the airport staring 40 hours of travel on a BH weekend in the eye as I had to re-route. BUT the difference MHFA makes already and the even greater difference I firmly believe we can make as a global movement trumps sleep, a BH weekend, time with Boris, Obi, Dolly and Jonny this week. It has definitely been worth being awake at all the wrong times for! Hoping Doll will welcome me home. At 14 and a half she is resolute and forthwright about her opinions and the staffy sulk is real ๐Ÿ’š

Today on the anniversary of the bombing at the Admiral Duncan we remember everyone killed and hurt in that attack, and all those who loved them. And we pay tribute to everyone hurt or killed owing to homophobia, transphobia and all other forms of prejudice both before 1999 and since. Too many lives taken too early. Yes it is absolutely BRILLIANT the hate crime legislation has passed and has eradicated a hierarchy of hate in legislation and we must celebrate that. However at a time of growing polarisation, increased hostility and attacks on minoritised communities the real job is to prevent hate, actively build compassion and empathy and stop people being hurt and killed. If anyone doesnโ€™t like me or someone else because of who I am/we are fine, but nobody has the right to cause hurt and harm. Period.
