👋🏼 Wolterton’s Art & Culture programme is conceived by Artistic Director and Lead Curator, @Simon_Oldfield , whose curatorial approach places bold contemporary voices in dialogue with the layered history of the Hall and grounds – creating encounters that are both unexpected and deeply resonant. This summer, he unites Phyllida Barlow and Daisy Parris – two artists whose works will challenge, disrupt and reimagine the historic space. See Phyllida Barlow: disruptor and @DaisyParris ’ Fist Full of Dreams opening 20 May. In collaboration with Guest Curators @Clare.Lilley and @GemmaRollsBentley . #PhyllidaBarlow #DaisyParris

A glorious Friday celebrating the Lynn Chadwick exhibition launch @houghton_hall , curated by @pangolin.london . ✨ Thank you David and Rose Cholmondeley for the delicious lunch. Robert Walpole built Houghton, and his younger brother built @woltertonpark . Centuries later, it feels incredibly special to be part of the ecosystem that will see these two estates in conversation once again through art and culture. Between Chadwick at Houghton, Phyllida Barlow and Daisy Parris at Wolterton, plus everything happening at the @sainsburycentre and @norwichcastle ... Norfolk is absolutely spoiled for art and culture this summer. Great fun was had with friends, new and old, especially @jobaringart @mhamnett ❤️ #LynnChadwick #HoughtonHall #WoltertonPark #Norfolk #sculpture

This painting is part of a charity auction in support of Princess Alice Hospice @pahospice I made this work in 2009, while studying at the RA Schools. This painting is part of a series of works where I first began to bring together my interests in textiles, geometric abstraction, and architectural ornamentation. This charity auction is organized by Simon Oldfield and Associates @simon_oldfield and Gorringes @gorringesauctioneers Please reach out to them if you’d like more information about the auction. Opening on May 20th, Wolterton presents two major exhibitions of work by Phyllida Barlow and Daisy Parris as part of its 2026 Art & Culture Programme, conceived by Artistic Director and Lead Curator, Simon Oldfield. Installed throughout the Hall’s historic interiors and surrounding grounds, the exhibitions set two distinct contemporary practices against one of Britain’s most assured Palladian houses. Daisy Parris will present ‘Fist Full of Dreams’, a solo exhibition curated by Guest Curator Gemma Rolls-Bentley and Simon Oldfield in a newly developed ground-floor gallery at Wolterton. Bringing together a new body of paintings made in response to the house and landscape alongside the artist’s first large-scale textile installation, the exhibition establishes a dialogue with Phyllida Barlow’s sculptural interventions elsewhere in the building. Running concurrently, Phyllida Barlow’s solo exhibition ‘disruptor’, curated by Guest Curator Clare Lilley in collaboration with Simon Oldfield, unfolds across three rooms at Wolterton and into the landscape beyond. disruptor brings together more than 70 works spanning over three decades of the artist’s career, from works on paper to large-scale sculptural installations. Within the context of Wolterton, both Parris and Barlow operate as agents of interruption. Barlow’s sculptural interventions physically challenge the architecture, asserting imbalance and provisionality against Palladian order. Parris’s disruption is emotional rather than structural, yet no less insistent. The turbulence of the textile and paintings unsettles the smooth lines and historical authority of the interiors, introducing vulnerability into a space built on control. #harlandmiller @designmuseum is essential viewing 💜 Harland co-curates the exhibition with the Design Museum’s Director Tim Marlow. It explores how Miller harnesses the principles of graphic design, saturated colour palettes and a wide range of typefaces designed by the artist himself. The paintings reflect Miller's time living in Los Angeles, driving past monolithic billboards on the highway, while a selection of works on paper from the same series offer an insight into the structural composition that informs Miller’s large-scale paintings. Miller discovered the allure of medieval manuscripts 40 years ago while studying for his A-levels, in which monks laboured to produce highly decorative letters as chapter-headings. This painstaking process was the source of inspiration for the Letter Painting series and the related works on paper, and a subject that Miller returns to time and again, synthesising modern Pop Art sensibility with centuries-old manuscript illumination, melding the sacred with the everyday. It’s a free exhibition, alongside the brilliant Wes Anderson and Blitz exhibitions also on at the #DesignMuseum Tell me your highlights!

Maggi Hambling and Sarah Lucas triumph in ‘Ooo La La’ - a joint show across two galleries at @sadiecoleshq & @frankierossiartprojects on Bury Street, St. James. Sarah and Maggi are great friends, whose enormous respect and love for each other unfolds in room after room in this joyous exhibition. Also shown at the end is the installation of ‘Time’ @woltertonpark , a recent body of work by Maggi in memory of her late person (she doesn’t like partner), Tory Lawrence, which is on show until spring 2026. Also shown, was a happy morning after the opening of Maggi’s show at Wolterton with Sarah, Maggi, @gemmarollsbentley and me. London and Norfolk is lucky to have an abundance of Maggi and Sarah right now. #maggihambling #sarahlucas @sarahlucasthe1st
