Why is nobody talking about the fact that Liam kissed one of Tina's two daughters in the pub at the beginning of the film, goes back in time, sleeps with Tina, and then Tina turns out to be pregnant with...who? The girl in the pub? If you don't know what I'm on about, please go and see the remarkable new @mark_jenkin film, 'Rose of Nevada', in cinemas now. Trust me, it will keep you thinking for weeks. Months, even...

"Gritty is the googly-eyed, orange-furred mascot for the Philadelphia Flyers hockey squad. When rivals the Pittsburgh Penguins tweeted 'lol, ok' to his introduction, Gritty's account replied, 'sleep with one eye open tonight, bird'."
My latest for the City AM magazine looks at what happens when mascots go rogue. Pick up a copy around London or read the mag online via the link in bio 🫟
Immortalised in the West in Cornershop's 'Brimful of Asha' single, Asha Bhosle was the original Bollywood playback singer by whom all others were measured. She died this morning, aged 92. Rest In Peace.

"As the skateboarding boom spread from America to the UK in the early 1970s, skateboarders were drawn to the Undercroft’s smooth, fast concrete surfaces, steps and ramps. The site quickly became a shrine to their sport and the culture surrounding it – graffiti, music, zines and fashion – working as a destination for like-minded people to hang out and exchange ideas."
My latest for City AM looks at the story behind the Southbank Centre's Undercroft Skate Park in London and the forthcoming 'Skate 50' exhibition that celebrates its enduring importance. Read it via the link in bio.

Alongside the likes of Peaches, Darryl Jenifer from Bad Brains, The Hives and others, I've been on New York's East Village Radio lately, courtesy of @arthurkuzmin and his We Know Nonsense radio programme. My two-hour show (as Ubu Kung) is now on Mixcloud and available for listening anytime - link in bio.
We founded Tse Tse Fly Middle East in Dubai in 2015, bringing together like-minded artists experimenting with sound and film. It's horrifying now to think of old friends in the region who are suffering because of the whims of bloodthirsty dictators.
What a night. Heavy psychedelic dub pressure and snaking avant-jazz at the Barbican as Speakers Corner Quartet, African Head Charge and Adrian Sherwood levelled London. Adrian Sherwoord live dates follow in Europe:
Feb 26 | Club Villanos | Madrid
Feb 28 | La Nau | Barcelona
May 16 | Nuits Sonores Festival | Lyon
and then on to Canada and the U.S.A...
Special mention to @peterbyproxy for the astonishing visuals during Mr Sherwood's set.

"This collection really transcends a group of objects; it’s a record of devotion, sacrifice and belief in the necessity of Black art. I hope it teaches others that institutions don’t only come from wealth or prestige."
My latest for the New York Observer is an interview with artist Marques Redd, a custodian of the Redd family art collection, one of the world's most important assemblages of Black art. Link to read in bio.
