Another day, another birthday. This humble little pomegranate had a lesson for me about wealth today...I was standing on a beautiful rock wall next to an old stone house where my friend lives with her sweet little family. I was looking out over a damp green valley ready for planting, cowbells chiming slowly in the distance, a place and country entirely new to me but that feels like all my favorite familiar places — wide open, green, calm. While eating the little red seeds was thinking about how they looked and tasted like precious little rubies and that this feeling / moment was priceless and that I felt incredibly rich…lately with all this industry + world doom and gloom I’ve been feeling like the material wealth I had hoped to achieve in life is going to be elusive if it ever comes and what that means for how I should design the next 30 years of life.
Thinking about all that while simultaneously feeling sooo “wealthy” in other areas of my life. On this day am feeling wealthy in varied life experience, deepening friendships + chosen family, travel + adventure, wisdom, moving with integrity, joyful making, living my life as art and not just waiting to make art, personal growth + internal work, imagination, realness, values + purpose aligning with action — the gratitude list goes on but vulnerability will stop me here…a perpetual work in progress and feeling content in the process 🤲🏽♥️🕊️
