another frieze LA + birthday week 🥰
grateful for this season of growing with Sutton on the west coast and supporting artists I admire. what better way to see art than in the sunshine, surrounded by the most incredible friends and colleagues ❤️🔥
Jin Meyerson’s “Safe Space” at @perrotin Los Angeles unravels the dislocation of landscape, memory, and identity through luminous, fragmented visions 💚
I had the chance to review the show for @hyperallergic (link in bio!) 👩🏻💻
For further listening, tune into the @dublab episode “Seeds, Samples, and Sado” featuring @jinmeyerson and @teebs__ hosted by @seyoungstayoung and @gyopo.us ✨

This piece is really special to me. I started writing it in March, when AI-generated Ghibli images briefly went viral. What seemed like a passing trend quickly brought up deeper questions about nostalgia, visual manipulation, and what’s at stake for artists in the age of generative tools.
Those questions hit closer to home when the LAPD-ICE raids broke here in LA. It became clear how easily systems of power can weaponize empathy, and why we have to stay vigilant about who’s shaping the narrative. Growing up in the world of Pixar, I’ve always valued storytelling that’s rooted in care, slowness, and the human touch.
Thank you to @designobserver for publishing this, and to everyone who’s spent time with it already 🫶🏼 Link in bio to read.
