The Hollow Throne
His mother named him after a fighting fury, hoping a distinguished name would empower him for good, helping his people and the future of his kingdom. But he was born under a blood moon, crowned too young, and cursed too deep, being destined to tragedy since birth. He ruled with greatness for years, being beloved and bold. However, when famine gripped his lands, he sought to make a deal with a demon, Abaddon, who promised salvation by an abuncance of crops and livestock for centuries to come. But the promised abundance never came. The fields yielded withered crops, and the animals were born frail and starved. King Helmar wasn’t aware of what the pact entailed- destruction and doom to everyone across the realm, and to his highness, his humanity. His veins imploded with hatred, evil, and darkness… creeping up slowly like Abaddon’s thick black blood. Now they call him Helmar the Hollow- his eyes no longer his own, his face distorted by horns and malevolence.Â
This look was our very first creature collaboration, and we couldn’t be happier with the results and support we’ve had before, during, and after. We had so much fun with this look and coming up with his backstory; we hope you like our handsome demon-possessed king.
