Some exciting news! Our feature doc A Bird with a Knife has been awarded a Development Grant from @catapultfilmfund ! It’s an honor to be chosen among such an incredible cohort of films. Thank you @catapultfilmfund for believing in our vision for this quirky film about this strange cattle mystery. Shout out to our udderly amazing team @cornpone @pilgrim_films and EP, Daniel Chalfen for helping us make this *moovie* *** A Bird with a Knife explores the 50-year mystery surrounding thousands of cattle mutilations across the American West. Following a veteran investigator, an Oregon sheriff, and the ranchers whose cases they’re working to solve, this film is about folklore, faith, and the stories we tell when no absolute truth exists.

🌿 The Quiet Epidemic 🌿 Now Streaming: Apple TV+ | Amazon Prime Co-Director: @winmurdoch After years of living with mysterious symptoms, a young girl from Brooklyn and a Duke University scientist are diagnosed with a disease said to not exist: Chronic Lyme disease. The Quiet Epidemic follows their search for answers, which lands them in the middle of a vicious medical debate. What begins as a patient story evolves into an investigation into the history of Lyme disease, dating back to its discovery in 1975. A paper trail of suppressed scientific research, and buried documents reveals why ticks—and the diseases they carry—have been allowed to quietly spread around the globe.

Big Sky, you were a good one. ❤️‍🔥 Back in February, the @_amigos4ever and @sideyard.studios crews headed to Missoula, MT for the beloved @bigskydocfest — a few bone-chillingly cold days filled with great films, thoughtful conversations, and the kind of energy only a festival can bring. We were honored to screen in Shorts Block 11 alongside many docs, including a team favorite The Time My Grandmother Was Held Hostage by Bank Robbers (directed by @rosellatursi ) — a lineup full of inventive, thoughtful storytelling that made us very grateful to be in the room. Outside of the screenings, we got to reconnect with familiar faces, meet countless new ones, and soak in a city that genuinely shows up wholeheartedly for storytelling. Montana in February is no joke, but the warmth of the Missoula community more than made up for the cold. Thanks for having us @bigskydocfest 🐋🧨💙

🐋 One man. One whale. Twenty cases of dynamite. OH WHALE revisits the infamous 1970 exploding whale incident in Florence, Oregon, through the eyes of news anchor Paul Linnman — the reporter whose unexpected assignment became one of the most legendary local news stories of all time. Funny, strange, and unexpectedly moving, the film reflects on fate, memory, and the stories that end up defining us. Directed by filmmaker and cinematographer Winslow Crane-Murdoch, whose work has screened at Hot Docs and True/False and appeared on HBO and in The New Yorker. 🎟️ Sunday, June 14 at 11:30 AM 📍 Regal Gallery Place #dcdoxfest26

Premiere recap photo dump part 1️⃣! Thank you @_grollins_photo_ & @kvonzen for these great pics 🧨 What a night! Our Oregon premiere at @pam_cut 's Tomorrow Theater was everything we hoped for and more—thanks entirely to you. We kicked things off with two completely sold-out screenings, packing the theater with Portland locals, folks from the film, and fans of the exploding whale story from all over the state; including a crew of blasted blubber believers who drove up from Florence to celebrate with us. 🐋💙 Guests were greeted with Oh Whale-themed swag (no blast-zone ponchos, sorry), setting the tone for an evening full of nostalgia, laughter, and a surprising amount of civic pride over Oregon’s arguably most infamous moment in history. Our first screening wrapped with an intimate Q&A featuring director @winmurdoch , editor @instagorky , and producers @cecilbrownn & @luketterrell . The conversation was lively, thoughtful, and full of behind-the-scenes stories that reminded us why this film exists in the first place. The second screening featured a more formal panel hosted by @oregonhistoricalsociety 's Kerry Tymchuk—joined by Winslow, Corky, and Luke, and the two people who lived this story firsthand: journalist Paul Linnman and cameraman Doug Brazil. Hearing their reflections in a packed room, 55 years after the explosion (to the day), was truly something else. Not to mention, this was Paul’s very first time seeing the film—he didn’t walk out, which we took as a good sign. 😉 Our main takeaway is this: there is a lot of heavy stuff going on in the world right now, and we heard from so many people that this film felt like a breath of fresh air. It’s whimsical, nostalgic, sentimental. And honestly? We could all use a dose of that. All in all, we’re still floating from all the love, the energy, and the community you brought into the theater. Thank you for showing up, cheering us on, and helping us celebrate a story that’s been part of Oregon lore for more than half a century. Please stay tuned for more screenings and festival updates coming soon!
