I remember last year (possibly almost 2 years), I was sitting in the office with @emekankem_mba discussing a possible film project. I mentioned my intention to leave Enugu to Lagos. He asked why, I told him there was better pay and better opportunities and Enugu just wasn’t giving much chances to creatives. Since we had that conversation, @afiatvofficial under his leadership has done so much and made so much impact on the lives of creatives in Enugu and I cannot fully express how grateful I am. One project one workshop @alaigbocreativeworkshop , one collaboration, one employment, one funding at a time.
I see the numerous opportunities here and I’m honored to receive this award from the people I feel are making one of the most impact!

Bili Kam Bili was born from a question that plagued my mind: what happens when a war ends on paper but never ends inside the home and in the mind. The Biafran war shaped generations of Nigerians, not only through loss of life, but through silence, resentment, tribal hatred and fear.
This film does not attempt to retell the war story, instead it examines how unprocessed violence returns in private spaces, often against women and children who carry no responsibility for it.
This film has no dialogue because I wanted people to sit with the silence and reflect on how much messed up the mind can get.
I’m grateful to @officialbettyagbo for all the overwhelming contributions and support. Shout out to @daniel.ngozika and @ezigbo_trailers for assisting with this poster , it entirely reflects what I needed it to. And gratitude to all the team members who of course were my friends

Filmmaking is hard. But it’s often easier when you make it with your friends and people who genuinely love the art and craft. The worst days on a movie set is often better than the best days elsewhere and it was all such a delight to share a set with the most amazing team. Daalu nu.

When Betty Agbo Auditioned for Morelum, it wasnt just an audition, it was us coming together to bring life to the character. What makes great actors is not just how they carry the character, it’s also how they listen to the director. In this scene Morelum confronts her mother about the need to run from their village over some of the customs and traditions.
Your monologues sucks, but I can make it suck less I can help you shoot, edit and direct your reading/monologues.

Shooting these photos for @sophiaoyiza reminded me of how much I missed taking photos. People call me a filmmaker these days. But I’m not really just a filmmaker, I mean that’s not all I am. I’m also not really just a photographer either. I like to say I’m just a storyteller. Every medium I can lay my hands on, I’ll use to one end goal — to tell stories
