I came to Morocco to photograph architecture and design, but somewhere between the riads, courtyards, tea rituals, handmade tiles, and the warm desert light… the experience became much more personal.
@ryaddyor was one of those places that slows you down enough to actually observe.
The shadows.
The silence.
The craftsmanship.
The imperfect textures.
The way light transforms a space throughout the day.
As a photographer, those are the places that stay with me the longest.
My portraits were taken by the talented @leonie.marrakech
Load out walkthrough for what basically comes with me on all interior shoots now. Does all of it get used on each shoot? No. Could I? Sure. Special thanks to Phil with @robertscamera for the new @westcottlighting FJ800s (not sponsored). #interiorphotography #architecturephotography #shiftercommunity
Our fellow Shifter @readmckendree reached out looking for some advice regarding Fuji GFX and TS lenses:
“Hey! Can you recommend a tilt shift set up for the Fuji gfx? The two gfx ts seem too wide or too long so I was looking at the canon 50 ts with an adapter. Any thoughts?”
Flying with professional gear is a stressful game. After 20+ flights across 10 countries in the last few years, I’ve learned how to navigate the airport without the stress.
Here is how I manage my overweight carry on bag.
• The Battery Rule: All batteries must stay in your carry-on. In EMEA and APAC, the limit is usually 100Wh per battery. Always double-check local regulations for the US and Canada, as they can vary.
• The “Shopping Bag” Hack: Carry-on weight isn’t always checked, but if you get flagged, have a spare shopping bag ready. Moving a few heavy lenses or bodies into a “personal item” bag can save you from a forced gate-check.
• The Sticker Strategy: Keep a few old “Checked” stickers from previous flights in your kit. A suitcase that already looks processed is less likely to get a second look. Just ensure your bag is a compact model that doesn’t draw unnecessary attention.
• Lead with Empathy: Never underestimate a “How’s your day going?” Airport staff deal with stress all day. Initiating a genuine conversation makes it much more likely they’ll overlook a slightly heavy bag or give you a pass when you’re over the limit.
Stop stressing the transit

I tested three drop-in CPL filters on real architecture and interior shoots to see if there’s any difference in image quality or polarizing strength... Canon vs. Meike vs. Breakthrough Photography.
Spoiler: I couldn’t see a difference at all!
