We have done a lot of crazy things for Challenge Accepted, but this one may be at the top of the list - @michellekhare hung off the side of a C-130 to recreate Tom Cruise’s Deadliest Stunt!
I was fully-loaded for this one and I loved every second of it. Recording everything from talent, to air traffic and plane comms. I had a hybrid cart/bag setup ready to capture wireless across the tarmac, or quickly switch to boom a side conversation. (2024) Barker Wellness x Sprouts Ad
Post production sound for a health supplement doesn’t get more exciting than this! Given that we already had Travis’s amazing drums to work with, I kept everything else pretty minimal as to not go over the top. Little bits of comedic sound like the whip transitions and shoe squeak foley do a lot to break up the intensity while still sitting nicely in the mix.

Production and Post Sound for this one - very happy with how it came out! I love a good oner and @brandondermer came up with one of my favorites to date. Talent is wearing Lectro TXs with COS-11Ds hidden carefully in the wardrobe. The dialogue track is 90% Lav audio because of the complicated one shot, but there is still some boom mixed in to add back some ambience. We fortunately had a very quiet set despite all of the chaos, so it was a lot fun building that atmosphere back up in post!

FIGS always makes some of my favorite commercials - appreciating healthcare workers and showing what they have to deal with on the daily!
We had a lot of really cool and creative setups in this one, but I will always be a big fan of complicated walk n’ talks. It’s so satisfying to capture clean dialogue amongst the chaos!

My first time working with a puppet!
@alishaketry directed this hilarious short about an unexpected friendship that takes a dark turn.
Was able to mic the puppeteer @swazzlepuppetstudio and capture all of their performance in real time. No ADR needed!
This was lots of fun to mix in post as well because of the various tone shifts.

(2025) Challenge Accepted: “I Ran 7 Marathons in 7 Days on 7 Continents”
A massive undertaking for everyone involved. For sound, we had the unique challenge of capturing useable audio during each race. We had no idea when an important moment might happen during, so we needed a reliable solution. Fortunate for us we had the opportunity to test our equipment in some intense conditions before heading out.
I ended up going with a Zaxcom TRXLA5 so I could have on-board, timecode-synced recordings when Michelle inevitably went out of range, but also so I could use AA Lithiums that I could trust to work in any temperature.
Her lav needed to be durable and as waterproof as possible because of water and sweat, so a COS-11D was my mic of choice. Paired with a Remote Audio Rainman and Viviana Antenna Saver everything was completely dry everytime.
For the rest of the kit, humidity, condensation, and overall footprint were a major concern. My Nanuk 935 was my main workstation throughout, so I made sure to fit all of the essentials in there. I used a Sennheiser 416 to boom as they are known for being reliable in most conditions, and I picked up a K-tek 79cc to have a boom pole that fit inside the case.
Everything was great! But of course, I came down with a fever half way through. Nothing could prepare us for that. Luckily the amazing Ando Johnson was able to sub-in at the last second and use my kit to crush the remaining stops!
This show has always been fast-paced but this took it to another level! I’m so grateful to have met all of these incredible people and be a part of this inspiring journey.

Back in March we went to Japan to film a new episode of Challenge Accepted - @michellekhare training like a Samurai!
This will always be one of my favorite shoots. Japan is awe-inspiring, and getting to experience it this way with this team is something I will be forever grateful for!
Super clean RF everywhere allowed me to stay on whip antennas and remain lightweight and mobile for the fast-paced nature of this shoot.

My kit for a recent @wearfigs commercial. Running 4 channels of wireless, 3 IFB, 2 TC boxes, 1 plant mic and 1 boom. Having everything organized and ready to go on a follow cart is essential to my workflow on OMB shoots! This one turned out great - Happy Nurses Week!
(2024) PBS SoCal - Black Art: A Brockman Gallery Legacy
Worked on part of this great documentary about The Brockman Gallery directed by @smilez94
I enjoyed hearing real stories and seeing studios and museums in LA that hold some incredible work. It’s so cool to learn about the impact this art has had on the culture around me.
For sound, docu-style work is always so rewarding because of the run and gun nature. You have to be quick and ready to roll, interact with talent that is unfamiliar with film, and you wont always have the perfect environment, but still being able to capture something real despite all of that is always amazing!
(2024) @markhoppus “Fahrenheit-182” Memoir Ad
Another one I recorded on set and brought to life in post! Typically on set the boom is king, but in some situations the lav really shines. This was one of those scenarios - shooting in a nice house often means a lot of reverb, and while you can mitigate that with hypercardioid mics and sound blankets, sometimes it’s still too much. That’s why the mic hidden in Mark’s tie is what you are hearing for the dialogue track. Very fortunate to work with directors like @brandondermer who allow me to be creative while bringing their vision to life!
