You might be cool, but are you “get a signed Bluey soundtrack album and personalized caricature from the creators themselves” cool? Thank you @chrisanimations and @leemo626 these are so awesome. 🙏🏻🤘🏻
This is one of the first photos I ever took of @skyehoppus . It was late 1999. We’d only been dating a couple months. I was living in San Diego and she lived in LA, but I spent most of my nights at her apartment. In the waiting room of her doctor’s office one morning I went to take her picture just as she started stretching. It felt a little strange being there, in the waiting room. Waiting for the nurse to bring us back. It was so new into our relationship that being asked along, even to a routine physical, felt intimate and connective. An indication that we were already more than dating. In addition to the questions the doctor would surely ask her, Skye was DEFINITELY going to be in her underwear for a long period of time, and there was a decent chance I’d get to watch her boobs get checked and probed and whatnot. Anyway, in the waiting beforehand, she stretched, and I took the picture.
I love this photo. It’s blurry, but I love Skye’s figure and form and the soft light and shadow. The crease of the wall and the color of the chair. I remember that morning like it was yesterday. How in love I was with her already. How I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. She was the most beautiful smartest most amazing woman I’d ever met and this photo caught the moment it was all setting in and happening new and fresh and hopeful for the first time. No two people had, or ever would, love each other as much as we did right then. A year later we were married. I see this photo and realize how much I still feel the same way every day.
Happy 25th anniversary, Skye. I love you more.
