“Erin Shields’ Mary, Mary, Mary, Mary is brash, funny, and message-forward.” (Intermission)
Four women emerge from the desert, each bearing the same name: Mary. As history folds in on itself, they raise their voices in a story of faith, sacrifice, and rebellion.
Blending ancient scripture with her trademark incisive, contemporary wit, Erin Shields (Here We Are, Paradise Lost, If We Were Birds) reclaims the stories of four women who stood at the gates of revolution—only to be sidelined by history.
A visceral and lyrical reimagining of the gospels’ most enduring icons, Mary, Mary, Mary, Mary interrogates what happens when four women who bore witness to miracles are finally allowed to speak.

2026.27 Season Tour:
► A delicious revenge comedy about a cure with wicked fine print.
ALL’S WELL
By Mona Awad
Adapted for the stage by Erin Shields
Directed by Jackie Maxwell
Starring Maev Beaty
A Crow’s Theatre and Soulpepper Theatre Co-production
📍 Guloien Theatre @ Crow’s Theatre
🗓️ Nov 24–Dec 27, 2026
World Premiere
In this wild comedy from celebrated Canadian author Mona Awad, writer of the bestselling novels Bunny and We Love You, Bunny, magical realism takes centre stage.
After a freak onstage accident ends her promising acting career, Miranda Fitch is left in chronic pain and reduced to directing student Shakespeare productions in a struggling university’s theatre department. When her mutinous undergraduates want Macbeth instead of her beloved All’s Well That Ends Well, Miranda is determined to change their minds—by any means necessary. But when three mysterious strangers offer a magical cure to her pain, she’s pulled into a surreal journey that pushes her to the brink of sanity.
The promise of a happy ending comes with wicked fine print in Mona Awad’s All’s Well– a razor-sharp comedy about ambition, pain, and power.
✨ Maev Beaty—whose work has been seen across nine seasons with the Stratford Festival, in A24’s Beau Is Afraid, and in the award-winning production Secret Life of a Mother—stars in Governor General’s Award winner Erin Shields’ adaptation.

Set within the crumbling walls of a decaying, isolated country house, the story follows three young women: a Deaf woman, a white hearing woman, and a Black hearing woman, who have been “rescued” by a mysterious and unseen father figure. This patriarchal specter represents forces that have been silencing and confining women over generations — patriarchy, ableism, racism, and the complex intersections of these forms of oppression.

A dynamic work, fusing movement with American Sign Language (ASL), music, and visual projections ~To a Flame~ written by Erin Shields, creates a hauntingly authentic exploration of race, gender, and ability. By addressing intersectionality, historical erasure, and societal transformation, the piece fosters empathy, deepens understanding, and inspires action toward a more inclusive and equitable society. The inclusion of Madeline, a Deaf character played by Dawn Jani Birley, further bridges cultural divides, enriching the story’s exploration of madness and basic human rights for Deaf people. 🕯️
