New single released with a stunning animation video!!! Inspired by Ashkenazi folklore, a young girl is cautioned by her grandmother before heading into the woods to forage. In the forest she encounters the wintry cryptid Lekhoet, which possesses the ability to replicate its prey by conjuring soulless doppelgängers. Ladom Ensemble's music is a backdrop in her scramble to help her village outsmart the monster. This is a music video animated by Jewish-Canadian artist @yoel.o.fellow (Adam Silver). Its music is an arrangement of part of a well-known (within the niche community) collection of klezmer violin pieces, the Rumanische Fantasien, made known by Josef Solinski. Beth Silver has extensively studied klezmer music and made several extended trips to Eastern Europe to research and enrich her traditional musical practice. Adam immersed himself in Ashkenazi folklore to inform him in creating the original story for the video. Watch the whole video or listen to our single on Spotify. Link in bio: Credits: Yoel O. Fellow (Adam Silver) - animation ---- Beth Silver - cello Michael Bridge - accordion Adam Campbell - percussion Pouya Hamidi - piano ----- Recording and mixing engineer: Ryan McNabb Producer and editor: Peter Cook Mastering engineer: Reuben Ghose ----- Recorded at Revolution Recording in Toronto. ---- We acknowledge the generous support of Canada Council for the Arts | Conseil des arts du Canada for the creation of the video!!

Last month, I met a guy who was soon-to-be moving to Mexico. He persuaded me to go down and visit him for a fun vacation, and then uninvited me the day after I bought tickets. So I wrote a song about it. I don’t think I’ve ever made a public “musical diary entry” as my friend Jenna called it, or as my friend Tom has referred to it, my diss track. Guerilla filming done by good friend and roomie Victoria Jae! 💁🏻‍♀️ Points if you can name the Bloorcourt neighbourhood haunts where each “date” takes place.

🩶Introducing the incoming members of the Labyrinth Ensemble: @bethleora Beth Silver (M.Mus) is a Toronto-based cellist, composer, and arranger known for her expressive playing and genre-fluid voice. Her work spans classical, jazz, folk, klezmer, and more, often blurring lines between them in playful, intuitive ways. Equally at home in concert halls, clubs, synagogues, and studios, Beth has performed across North and South America, Asia, and Europe with ensembles ranging from chamber groups to experimental bands. She is a member of BLISK and Ladom Ensemble, Samba Toronto, and has arranged strings for award-nominated albums, theatre, and film. A curious researcher and collaborator, she’s worked with archives in Romania and Jewish musical traditions worldwide. Beth lives in Toronto’s west end with her cat Sica. 🐈‍⬛🌟🎧 Beth joins the second cohort of the Labyrinth Ensemble, dedicated to studying and performing the many manifestations of modal music over the next four years. For their debut performance, the Ensemble will be joined by guest artist @efren.lopez.sanz from Valencia, Spain: May 9, 2026 Nanji Family Foundation Auditorium @agakhanmuseum Aga Khan Museum (77 Wynford Drive, Toronto, ON) 8PM Tickets: bit.ly/LEwithEL 📸 @li_ongrevier
