Last month I presented a gallery show called Emanations as part of my final project at Hampshire. Emanations is a gallery installation that works to acknowledge and access the potential of body based archive. The work incorporates animalistic dwellings rendered at human scale as well as performance art that delves into themes of ritual, west African spirituality, and posthumanism. I will re-install Emanations January 29th & 30th at Available Potential Enterprises, Ltd (A.P.E.), an artist-led, artist-centered 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Northampton, MA. I am inviting folks to come by for thoughtful conversation and constructive critique January 29th, 3pm-5pm as well as January 30th, 9am-11am & 4pm-6pm.
These feedback sessions will act as the initiation of a multi-month research residency. A.P.E. supports “contemporary artists working in all disciplines by stewarding the spaces in which they create, perform and exhibit their work. A.P.E is dedicated to fostering relationships, encounters, and exchanges that nourish the capacity for imagination.” During this time I plan to articulate the research methodologies that inform my interdisciplinary practice while fleshing out the processes developed in Emanations. This will be supported by curatorial, editorial, and archival research, community organizing, and public programming.
You can message me if you are interested to participate or just show up!
