It’s satire month in June at @facetschicago ! You won’t want to miss these Must-Watch Indies! 🦆 CHICAGO PREMIERE — Described by Romanian auteur Radu Jude as the best film of the year, provocateur Nadav Lapid’s YES is a biting, pitch black satire that takes a blistering and unflinchingly critical look at modern Israeli society. Screens Saturday, June 13 - 2:00 PM – Intro, Sunday, June 14 - 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 18 - 6:00 PM, Saturday, June 20 - 5:00 PM, and Sunday, June 21 - 3:30 PM Tickets at 🔗⬆️ or box office.

Are you ready for MARTYRS?🩸 Pascal Laugier’s infamous 2008 shocker screens this Friday, May 15 at 9pm and remains one of the most harrowing, debated, and unforgettable experiences in modern horror. What begins as a brutal revenge story spirals into something far more existential, pushing past extremity into a bleak meditation on suffering, transcendence, and the limits of the body itself. 🎟️ $14 single | $20 double feature with FEMALE PRISONER SCORPION: #701 (1972)

PILLION starts today @facetschicago as part of this month’s Must-Watch Indies! “The story of that one relationship that defines a person, the one that finally reveals to them what they want out of sex, love, and life. We can all relate to that.” – Odie Henderson, The Boston Globe A superb romantic comedy with a BDSM twist, Harry Lighton’s directorial debut PILLION, starring Harry Melling and Alexander Skarsgård, offers a frank portrait of sexual coming-of-age and first love from a point of view rarely depicted on screen. Based on the novel Box Hill by Adam Mars-Jones, this dom-com follows the sexual coming-of-age of a shy, introverted gay man named Colin (Harry Melling), who works a menial job, sings in a barbershop quartet, and lives with his parents in London after he meets a drop dead gorgeous and enigmatic biker name Ray (Alexander Skarsgård). When an initial hookup on Christmas Day develops into something more, Ray introduces Colin to the misunderstood world of BDSM and a relationship that will change his life forever. Deliriously romantic, explicitly sexual, and deceptively tender, Lighton’s BAFTA-nominated film is a refreshingly modern queer rom-com that tackles intimacy, desire, and love with a wry, insightful, and ever so slightly melancholic touch. Stars Melling and Skarsgård have never been better. PILLION premiered in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival where Lighton won the Best Screenplay award. The film screens Sunday, May 10 at 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 16 at 5:00 PM, Sunday, May 17 at 5:00 PM, and Thursday, May 21 at 6:30 PM. Tickets at 🔗⬆️ or at the box office!
