When you have a genius friend who’s as passionate about what he does as you are, and he asks if you want to help him promote something cool he is doing, you jump right in and get to work!
This is
@kdprince and he’s a dear friend of mine that I had the good fortune of meeting when we both worked at
@netflix . He, along with his co-founder,
@shellrit , founded a creative marketing agency called
@headsinthesky which does marketing, social media, and…drumroll please…. drone shows.
@headsintheskydrones is the first 360 creative drone show agency that creates large-scale, story-driven drone shows for partners like Netflix, Amazon MGM, Sony Pictures, and Cinespia.
After witnessing fire tear through their beloved city earlier this year, Kevin and Michelle found themselves scratching their heads when they began to see the Los Angeles event listings for Fourth of July fireworks. Didn’t we just watch flames tear through our city landscape? Now we’re just going to launch fire in the air again like nothing happened? It feels reckless, it feels wrong, it feels tone deaf, and far too many are anxious about it.
So Kevin and Michelle put their money where their mouth was and took action. They self-funded their own 300 drone show that gave Los Angeles a glimpse into how captivating, safe, eco-conscious and community-rooted drones can be.
Here, Kevin goes on “Good Day LA” to talk drone shows, why LA needs to break up with fireworks and how to take advantage of telling stories with drones in the night sky to ignite fandoms, generate headlines and stop you in your tracks.
