As we close out this month of acknowledgment, we celebrate the legacy of women who have led our organization since its inception. The industry once seen as male-dominated has evolved into a landscape more reflective of the 21st-century workforce, with 63% of graphic designers identifying as female in 2026, highlighting ongoing progress and the importance of supporting women in design. While female representation in the workforce has grown, the rate of women in leadership is evolving at a different pace. Female creative directors increased from 3% in 2008 to 29% in 2020, showing positive momentum and the need for continued support to reach organizational leadership goals.  Happy Women's History Month to our past, present, and future leaders in design and beyond.
