For nearly 70 years, career and personality assessments hadn’t changed. We decided to fix that. Using advanced machine learning, psychometrics, and career satisfaction data, we’ve reimagined what a career test can be.
Finding happiness in a career comes down to four dimensions of fit. Our assessment uses your work and education history, interests, unique personality, and workplace preferences to match you with your best careers.
We update our database of 1500+ career and degree profiles constantly to reflect the ever-changing world of work.
There is so much to choose from. Go ahead and dream big.
After health and relationships, work is the most important factor in overall happiness. We help people feel confident and informed about their career decisions, then chart a course to achieving their goals.
During our assessment, we ask you for your general interest in randomly selected careers, as well as how satisfied you were in any previous careers.
Our models use this information to get a baseline understanding of who you are and what you’d be a good match for, and it’s also anonymously combined with all the data we have from other users.
We train ever better models from this growing dataset to better identify what careers you'd be a good fit for. This means your predictions are unique to you but validated against millions of other users.
Using data science to predict the best possible career matches for our users is a pillar of the CareerExplorer mission.
Our career test items were created by a team of I/O psychologists with years of experience in the field of psychometrics. We’ve developed a set of personality archetypes related to the world of work and how you best fit into it.
Using both Holland Codes and the Big 5 personality traits, we ask a series of questions to discover all of the ways you are unique. We combine this with our machine learning algorithm, trained on 500MM past responses to gauge career satisfaction and fit.
Our founder set out to help people find their perfect careers and live happier lives. The CareerExplorer team works every day towards that mission. We serve over 10 million people each year.
Go ahead, explore.
