Three Ladies is coming to LA! We're stoked to have our LA premiere at the 42nd Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, our second Academy-qualifying festival! 2nd Austin Film Festival in the books! It was an amazing (and exhausting) week, with 2 sold out World Premiere screenings for @threeladiesfilm (with @desmeejung and @andrealwin flying in for one of them!), lots of new friends made, and so much barbecue consumed. It was so inspiring to meet and hang out with so many talented filmmakers and writers and watch their films, and I will always be grateful to the team at @austinfilmfest for giving us this experience 😊 Shoutout to @sheenaes , @quonfucius , and @corona__cyrus for coming with me!

Our short film Three Ladies & A Fake ID will be having its world premiere at the 2025 Austin Film Festival! This event has a special place in my heart, as it’s where Sheena and I met back in 2022. “Three Ladies & A Fake ID” // comedy film written by @sheenaes & directed by @brandokumura For the visual language, we kept a simple and intentional framework to allow our actors the space to build energy & charisma within each frame. In general, I tend to lean into moody contrast for my work, but this story called for a more open feel. Leaned into comedy films from the late 1990s/early 2000s as the base inspo & then fine tuned to taste from there. Big ups to @rudypesci_color for absolutely crushing the look dev/grade. I don’t shoot a lot of comedy, so this was really fun on-and-off the film set. Looking forward to this film’s festival run. Nothing without my crew!!!
