#NewWriting Sheau Yun Lim @sheauthings reconstructs the life’s work of Inauk S. Gullah (1938–2020), whose singular paintings weave together colonial memory, religious cosmologies and village life in Sabah. Inclusión Forzada reúne obras recientes del artista guatemalteco Esvin Alarcón Lam, cuya práctica investiga los residuos materiales y afectivos de la globalización. Con un vocabulario que abarca desde la instalación, la performance y la escultura, Lam explora cómo las historias de migración, comercio e imperio continúan moldeando la vida contemporánea. Sus obras trazan circuitos improbables —jardines de bambú que conectan Cantón/China/Taiwán con Centroamérica, rutas del cardamomo desde la India hasta Guatemala y Arabia Saudita—, revelando cómo el desplazamiento también puede generar nuevas formas de creolización y pertenencia. A través de actos poéticos de fricción y transformación, Inclusión Forzada reflexiona sobre lo que significa ser moldeado por fuerzas externas. Los materiales de Alarcón Lam —yeso, bambú, cabello, cardamomo— se convierten en portadores de violencia y vitalidad, dando testimonio de un mundo que se reconstruye continuamente mediante el contacto. La exposición invita al espectador a considerar la «inclusión» como tensión: la fuerza que doblega, une y reconstruye el yo dentro de las circulaciones planetarias de la modernidad. PESZTA’25 FACES+SPACES: cloud projects (The Zhongshan Building) ☁️📚 Allow us to introduce you to cloud projects (@cl0ud.onl ), a curatorial and publishing collective headquartered in a secluded little office in the building. Don’t let their tiny office space fool you, as this curatorial quartet—comprising designer Amanda Gayle (@am.gayle ), researcher Chin Kar Yern (@chinkaryern ), curator Lim Sheau Yun (@sheauthings ), and writer Ong Kar Jin (@duriandemocracy )—have their gazes spread out over the entire Southeast Asian region.  🌏 cloud makes critical, intimate, and beautiful books, with five major book-cum-curatorial projects to their name since their founding in 2021: "Modern Pangs" (2025, book), "Pencil Exercises" (2022, book), "All The Lands Within The Seas" (2021, card game & exhibition), "Wawasan.Directory" (2021, web exhibition), "Banned in KL, AstroBoy Rides the Waves to Sky Kingdom on a Grasshopper" (2021, book). A sixth one is forthcoming in 2026! Their projects are situated at the intersection of art, architecture, and history; with rigorous research and inventive design, their projects excavate knowledge networks 🕸️ and forge worlds of possibility💡 Their projects are often brainy enough to be academic, but with a fun design element that adds a dimension of playfulness and transforms them into art objects. On normal days, their office is closed to the public. But for 1 day only this 1 November, they will be hosting an OPEN STUDIO where they will be selling their publications. This includes their latest, "Modern Pangs" by Chin Kar Yern, which compiles his research on the history of food & nutrition in Malaysia from our colonial era to present day.
