Looking back to my amazing week-long climbing trip in the scenic, rocky crags in the Al Hajjar Mountains in Oman. I had the pleasure of meeting some people from all over the Middle East during the 3rd annual Oman Climbing Festival, hosted in the Hadash region. My thoughts go out to all who are living in, and have family or friends living in the Persian Gulf region as we endure uncertain perils of war.
Thanks to the whole climbing community in and around the region for hosting, adventuring and befriending me during my short visit. I hope to return sometime soon!

Omani in the Hajjar Mountains
This boy was one of the homies hanging around the guest house I visited in Hadash. He would hike to the crags with us, percolate Omani coffee and serve it to us as we hung out in the shaded cliffs of this awesome mountain range. It is high altitude - approximately 1500m, which makes it a wonderful climbing destination - I’m glad I didn’t forget my puffy jacket on this trip to the desert! As you can see, the boy - as the rest of the people in this village - wear a thicker long dishdasha up here.
Taken with my half-working Canon AF 35M - hence the lack of focus… but as with many analog mistakes, I felt the imperfection added to the essence of the image.

One of my favourite moments in my favourite local Ontario place; Lion’s Head! Climbing the 40 metre 5.10 route MANELINE, which tops out the cliff line near the main hiker’s lookout, provides you with some of the most expansive views of the turquoise waters and rocky beach at the base of Lake Huron! This was a fun trip when I was able to show a good friend @wedontfightonsundays a good time at the best Ontario crag for his 40th birthday weekend!

Autumnal foliage in Calabogie, Ontario, interrupted by my monochromatic homage to the summer canopy. A successful climbing trip to Calabogie to sample all the amazing route developing that has been going on there with the help of @josephskopec and the other hardcore climbers in the Ottawa valley. A trip to the New River Gorge, West Virginia, is incomplete without a trip to Summerville Lake. We arrived early in the summer just as the reservoir was dammed, and had reached maximum water level (thank the lord or we might be doing some shallow water soloing.)
Apart from the water being quite frigid without a bluebird sunny day, we were able to climb a few moderate climbs. It was my first time water soloing - and let me tell ya! Bruising happens if you land flat footed or arms outstretched!

Party Hardy Athlete, @_nicholascarroll was able to redpoint his year long project this rOCkTOBER. Tour de Lion 5.14a/b is one of the steepest and longest king lines at the Lion’s Head cliff line! It was a pleasure belaying and shooting Nicholas Picholas on this route several times; he has such peak enduro-performance, being able to rest about 4 times mid route and still able to climb through the final hard crux sequence guarding the chains with a driveby dyno at the top. I stopped to hold the pockets and crimps he’s gripping while I was hanging on a rope and it felt impossible to think of holding onto those holds when you are pumped outta your gourd! A thousand bows for your commitment to the process on this one, Nick! Congrats, now let’s party hardy!

Cliff pigeons, am I right? @_nicholascarroll and I were mega psyched for a crag day at Lion’s Head - it is SENDTEMBER, so we thought we would take advantage of the send temps and go for redpoint attempts on our projects. We didn’t send but we shared a FULL VALUE day at our favourite place in Ontario; Lion’s Head. A full 18 hr day!!
