The platform for innovative music and interdisciplinary art, known first as SHAPE and later as SHAPE+, had been active for more than a decade. While the individual partner festivals and venues will continue to develop new initiatives, SHAPE+ is reaching its conclusion at the end of December 2025. The project has been co-funded by the European Union, in its last years also by @prohelvetia . SHAPE+ fostered exceptional emerging talent, connecting them to local communities and audiences through collaborative residencies, commissioned artworks, performances, and large artist meet-ups accompanied by a discourse program. Across its ten years of activity, SHAPE facilitated the careers of 676 innovative artists, and is thankful to them for their trust and participation. The creators of SHAPE owe much gratitude also to the core 18 adventurous music festivals of the platform, as well as external partner organizations, media partners, and participating entities from previous versions of the project. 🪲 Shape+’s three-year archive is now in print. This striking publication features over 300 artists, collaborations with festivals and clubs, interviews, event photography, and more. Its unique mix of CMYK prints with metallic and neon Pantone colors is a loveletter to the platform's innovative nature. 🛝 SHAPE+ 2025 marks the final year of the platform’s visual identity and symbolically announces its conclusion. The visual works directly with photographs of performers, which serve as models for drawing “shapes”, creating more colorful and abstract structures than in previous years. Their form resembles liquid glitches, while also reflecting the playfulness, chaos and creative efforts of the platform throughout its existence. 🍊SHAPE+ 2023 – 2024 follows the concept of a living visual identity that changes annually with the platform’s artistic program. The constantly transforming “shape” responds to the current selection of artists and emphasizes SHAPE’s openness to experiment, hybrid forms and genre crossing. The visual language of the 2023 edition is bold, flexible and open to media – balancing expressiveness and legibility. The identity works across both digital and physical formats, further developing the interactive dimension of the platform, in which the visual becomes an active part of SHAPE’s sound and performative world. ✏️ SHAPE+ 2022 introduces a new logo and visual identity for one of Europe’s wildest experimental sound and club culture experiences. The identity works with an ever-changing “shape” that reflects the experimental nature of the platform and its genre-bending artists. The 2022 redesign laid the foundation for a vibrant visual system that evolves annually alongside the artistic program. The experimental yet readable visual language is complemented by a new website with an interactive drawing tool, allowing audiences to actively enter the world of SHAPE+. “Looking back, I’m grateful that I had to sit through a lot of music that I didn’t like at the time or still don’t like today. That just never happens anymore.” We had a chat with Budapest-based DJ, producer, organiser and label-owner András Molnár aka The Stanley Maneuver. Interview link in bio Interview @lcia_65

ARTIST OF THE WEEK - THE STANLEY MANEUVER (HU) The Stanley Maneuver is the solo project of András Molnár, a musician, dj and organizer based in Budapest. His practice focuses on weaving a web of fragile environments that have their own histories, desires, faults and secrets. Building upon improvisational and generative techniques he constantly repurposes his materials to explore territories in and around experimental music and intimacy. Besides working on his solo project he is in constant collaboration with multidisciplinary artists and contemporary dancers on performances, installations and experimental computer simulations. https://shapeplatform.eu/artist/the-stanley-maneuver/
