🔨 Backward tracing the process behind the @teamcro.eu singles + album covers — setting the collective’s logo in the cave motif from historical depictions of St. Jerome’s biblical tale. Actual reference is the bas relief St. Jerome, probably by master Nikola Florentine, Dalmatia, around 1470–80. I first originally had seen the St. Jerome motif in the Kulturno-povijesni muzej in the Kneževu dvoru (rector’s palace) of Dubrovnik and got captivated by its composition and its depth. BAN-❎ w/ @paolo.cirio.art Musk Hyperhuman + editing / deepfaking Today, Paolo Cirio reveals himself as the author of the campaign BAN X in EU. For one year, he promoted this campaign anonymously, disclosing it only to close contacts, through an online petition, posters, graffiti, and stickers across Europe. He first launched the project with the pseudonym John Doe from Spain, but in reality, it was Paolo Cirio. BAN X in EU is a personal work investigating the Digital Services Act (DSA) regulation for online disinformation in Europe as an artistic and activist endeavor. Asking for the total ban of the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) is like asking for the impossible, something only an artist could ask and envision. It’s a utopia, but it also reflects how a functional democracy should work, where policies for avoiding manipulation of society are really actualized.
