Last Sunday
@sgvspirits gathered at 6 bars across San Gabriel Valley. We started at
@theveniceroom (I previously posted about grilling my own steak there) where I had
@buffalotrace on the rocks. The decor is very focused on Venice, Italy with red leatherette booths. Then we headed to Al’s Cocktails in San Gabriel. Decor is a mixture of bar promotional materials and 90s humor. I found the mixologist on duty sign fascinating. I got
@thebalvenie 12 for $11 which was insane to me. It is cash only here. Then we headed to
@the_crest_lounge which had a stove against the back wall but you don’t get to grill your own here. Our bartender was the sweetest and made sure we got every drop! I had
@knobcreek rye here. Then we knocked it over to
@buccaneerlounge which I’ve been told was a fun bar. I loved the pirate theme (given a choice of being a pirate or ninja I always choose 🏴☠️ over 🥷) - our flag means death (I hope you get this joke). Anyway I got a margarita which I only got because they actually use freshly squeezed juice and not a sour mix! Please don’t ask me what that watermelon pucker thing some dude tried to give me when he hit on me. Instead let’s focus on the
@wildturkey I asked for. For stop 5, we landed
@firstcabin where I very much loved the pricing. I had
@lagavulinwhisky 16 for only $9! Plus the bar regulars were very friendly! Throughout our crawl we asked for spooky stories. Most of the American whiskey I got throughout the day was $5-7. Then we made “home” to our last stop
@thecovecocktailbar where I got a whiskey sour! Join us for our next (and last one of the year) for Pie & Cocktails with
@oldforester ! I’m also already planning SGV Spirits Club events for 2026! #sgvspiritsclub #sgvspirits #sgveats
