Film Highlight: This Jungo Life
Date: Sunday 29 March. 2:00 PM
Can you imagine fleeing conflict, leaving everything behind in search of safety… only to find yourself still unsafe?
Still on the streets.
Still in limbo.
Still waiting for something to change.
This film doesn’t explain that reality. It places you inside it.
Young refugees from Sudan and South Sudan, already shaped by war and displacement, now navigating life in Morocco with no clear path forward.
Filmed on mobile phones, in collaboration with them, it carries an immediacy that’s impossible to distance yourself from.
Presented in partnership with @sf3fest
Followed by a live Q&A with the Melbourne based filmmaker @davidfedele01 .

Join us at Cinema Nova for a powerful screening and special Q&A conversation with David Fedele, director of This Jungo Life, Sunday 29 March at 2 pm.
David Fedele is an award-winning independent documentary filmmaker known for exploring cultural, humanitarian, environmental and social justice issues around the world.
This Jungo Life is a unique collaboration between Fedele and a group of young refugees and asylum seekers from Sudan and South Sudan who are living and sleeping rough on the streets of Morocco.
They call themselves “Jungo”, a name traditionally used for seasonal agricultural workers from Sudan, now adopted by refugees and migrants on the road.
Most arrived in Morocco after fleeing violence and instability in Libya, unable to return home due to ongoing war and conflict. In Rabat, they seek asylum through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, while many also dream of crossing into Europe through the heavily militarised borders of Ceuta and Melilla.
🎥 This Jungo Life tells their story from the inside — raw, unfiltered and without sensationalism.
A deeply human story of resilience, survival and hope.
Come watch the film and take part in the conversation.
