FROM THE ASHES TO THE BURNOUT MACHINES Vernissage am Mittwoch, 13. Mai 2026 um 18 Uhr Festivaleröffnung und Keynotes um 19 Uhr, im @afo.at Performance von Marco Donnarumma um 21 Uhr Ausstellungsdauer: 13. – 16. ----------- Burnout not only settles in the individual body as a state of exhaustion, it accumulates, circulates and disperses into a shared climate that stretches across technical systems, social relations and ecological processes. What happens at the margins of exhaustion, where systems falter or refuse to fully cohere? Could spaces emerge for tentative forms of connection, alternative rhythms and practices that do not reproduce the extractive logic of burnout? ------- KuratorInnen/curators: Davide Bevilacqua, Arianna Forte, Noemi Garay, Lara Mejač, Diane Pricop @arianna.forte2 , @noemi_lia2000 , @laramejac Beteiligte KünstlerInnen/artists: 868.labs, S( )fia Braga, MOC Mara Oscar Cassiani, Marco Donnarumma, Fantastic Little Splash, Christina Gruber, Dasha Ilina & Marie Verdeil, Sam Lavigne, Repair and Redress, Mario Santamaría, Ioana Vreme Moser @wassilychair , @m_msantamaria , @christinatgruber , @fantasticlittlesplash , @maraoscar_cassiani , @samlavigne , @marie_verdeil , @dashesandcommas , @ioana.vreme.moser , @868.labs , @body_sound_machine Eine Kooperation von @maerz.at , @servus_at – Kunst und Kultur im Netz und dem Art Meets Radical Openness Festival

Rather than fixed definitions, these entries are invitations to approach shared questions through different critical vocabularies. This entry approaches de-networking as a way of resisting constant connectivity and imagining alternative forms of communication and relation. 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗥𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 (𝗔𝗠𝗥𝗢) is a biennial community festival for art, hacktivism and open cultures. Emerging from the hacker and free software scenes of the early 2000s, the festival now sits at the intersection of radical technology and critical media art. Through exhibitions, lectures, performances, and workshops, AMRO creates space to resist technological monocultures and to share, learn, and think collectively about the conditions of our networked present. The 2026 edition, ᴮᵉᶜᵒᵐⁱⁿᵍ ᵁⁿʳᵉᵃᵈᵃᵇˡᵉ, approaches unreadability as both a response to radical transparency and a survival strategy amid intensified surveillance, burnout, and AI-driven extraction. In a moment shaped by AI-assisted warfare and pervasive computation, what cultural forms can help us grasp, and potentially challenge, the dominant ideologies of networked technologies? Which strategies might lay the groundwork for alternative, regenerative logics within digital infrastructures? AMRO26 brings together practices that resist extractive models of digitalisation and instead propose technical and non-technical alternatives to Big Tech and emerging AI oligarchies. These radical media art practices unsettle the assumptions of contemporary “smart” modernity, introducing aesthetic frictions into seamless digital environments to foreground slower, less spectacular, but more human forms of technological culture. 🔗 Read the full article by @martina.pizzigoni and Davide Bevilacqua on CLOT website (link in bio) Organised in Linz, Austria, by @servus_at in collaboration with the University of Arts and a network of local and international partners. 𝟭𝟯-𝟭𝟲 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝘇, 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹-𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀.𝗼𝗿𝗴
