Happy to share that my project Love Poem: Epika Serif Type Specimen, using the elegant Epika Serif by @superior_type , received the Award of Excellence from the 2026 @communicationarts Typography Annual ๐ค๐ฉท
Inspired by the way concrete poetry shapes language visually, the project draws from love poetry to highlight the lyrical and expressive character of the typeface.
Special thanks to Michael Worthington for the guidance throughout the process.
Graphic Design functions as a framework that actively shapes our perception of reality. My project, Design as a Question, explores the digital interface as a dynamic environment where modular pop ups and shifting highlights represent evolving perspectives. Instead of a static display, the site compels users to navigate and uncover content through their own agency, reflecting the philosophy of design as an open ended question.
This was my first web project back in Spring 2025, built through AI vibe coding. It was a rigorous process of translating conceptual intent into a functional system through iterative dialogue with AI.
Shortlisted for the @communicationarts 2026 Interactive Competition.
Huge congratulations to Sen Park (GD MFA2) on winning the 2026 Communication Arts Typography Annual Award of Excellence ๐
Senโs project explores the expressive range of Epika Serif, a typeface designed by Rostislav Vanฤk of Superior Type, through a type specimen centered on love poetry. Initially inspired by the visual structure of concrete poems, Sen treats the text not as static content but as a flexible material for interpretation. Each composition uses hierarchy, scale, and layout to translate a poemโs unique rhythm into typographic form. This approach showcases Epika Serifโs full potential, highlighting its extensive family of weights, elegant swashes, and lyrical alternate glyphs.

Spent this past Saturday at The Reef in DTLA for Yesterday+Today+Tomorrow. It was an exhibition tracing the connections in publication design across the CalArts community.
It was so inspiring to see everyone from faculty to alumni in one place and to look through their amazing work. I also feel grateful to be part of this exhibition with my own work.๐ค๐งก

SUPER ULTRA MODERN GRAPHIC
: A publication on K-POP visual grammar
This publication analyzes and organizes the visual grammar of contemporary K-POP design. It maps elements like repetition, maximalism, Y2K aesthetics, vivid color, and rhythmic editing across various medium, ranging from album art to music videos.
This project highlights the work and insight of designers and artists who shape this field, and it gives a shoutout to their dedication and vision. The design of the book becomes part of the language it documents.
Big thanks to Yasmin Gibson for her guidance๐ค
Special thanks to @mirutail for recreating this book in 3D Maya๐ฉท

CalArts Poster 03
Poster for @calarts.pfv โs Artist Workshop with @ivarad . Linked to her Secret Cinema workshop, inspired by Akira Mizuta Lippitโs โReflections on Spectral Life,โ it explores spectrality, memory, and the unseen gaze through experimental filmmaking.
Produced in motion and silkscreen formats, the single-tone blue print creates a unified visual field. The eye image evokes the tension between seeing and being seen, echoing her ongoing inquiry into presence, absence, and perception.
Fake & Flex
โA flex starts as a fake, but ends as belief.โ
The poster connects the words Fake and Flex both visually and semantically. The mirrored layout loops upside down, exploring the tension between surface appearance and hidden meaning.
CalArts Poster 02
This poster was created for @calarts.pfv โs Artist Workshop featuring @phytography_ Karel Doing. Itโs connected to Doingโs Phytography workshop, which explores an image-making process that combines plant material with photographic emulsion, using biodegradable chemistry in natural light.
The poster was produced in both silkscreen and motion graphics. The silkscreen poster was printed with metallic silver and chrome black inks, creating subtle shifts in the surface depending on the angle of light. The reflective texture of the ink relate to the physical reactions at the center of the workshop, while the layered and fractured relationship between texture and typography was inspired by its experimental approach.
CalArts Poster 01
Made with @jaylaworks for @calarts.artschool โs The Paul Brach Visiting Artist Lecture Series featuring Lindsey White.
Silkscreen printed pink on pink, referencing her use of everyday objects and stage props.
