Steel Horse (@steelhorsepower ) was formed through a passion for motorcycles and sad dance music. Coming from italo roots under his other alias Señor Chugger (@senorchugger ) and with previous releases on Running Back Records, Moustache Records and Slow Motion Records, Steel Horse has taken these inspirations along with his love of riding motorcycles and moulded them into a club-ready nostalgic sound. Start your engines, and always look back.

With the abrupt closure of The Crofters Rights in July, our 10-year monthly DJ residency has sadly come to an end. We’ve taken some time out to rest, recalibrate, and reimagine what the next 10 years will look like.
And it’s with great joy that we announce our next event -our 11th Birthday Party- back at the venue where we hosted our very first club night... drum roll... at EXCHANGE in Old Market. And thank fuck it’s still going strong!
Since we never got the chance to properly send off our Crofters residency, we’ve invited friends old and new who’ve shared the decks with us to celebrate our Birthday with a healthy nod to the “I Wanna See All My Friends at Once” lyrics in Arthur Baker/Dinosaur L’s disco odyssey “Go Bang!”
We’ve invited Hot Buttered Soul Head Honcho Mike Shawe, whom we first met at our launch event at Exchange all those 11 years ago. There’s Milly on Air, who we first booked to DJ at one of our events back in 2018, and Emmet Read, who featured on our debut record release. We’re also thrilled to have Safiye, whose meteoric rise from Mix Nights to a SWU residency is nothing short of inspiring. Tim Spencer, the legendary host of Noods Radio, will be joining us too - after sharing the decks with him for the first time last year. And of course, we couldn’t leave out the Warp Speed Chug trio: Señor Chugger, Count Van Delicious, and DJ Seabass, who’ve brought endless lols and infectious energy to our Bodywork residency with their Italo-focused dance sets.
