Hi it’s Tim! I began a new music project about a year ago - teaching myself production (with the help of talented friends), and immersing myself in new sounds that are different from the ones I played under the “selfget” alias. This last year was a hugely transformative year for me - I guess it’s fitting that a new sound came with the upheaval. This new project is called “hg”. hg is an acronym, for the phoneticization of the phrase 活該, which translates roughly to “deservedly.” It’s what your parents say to you as a kid, when they tell you not to play with something and then you end up hurting yourself. As part of this musical journey, I’m starting a new monthly radio show on @kchungradio here in LA, to showcase some of the new sounds i’ve been digging, as well as some of my old favorites. The show is called “No Worries If Not” - a phrase born from a conversation with a friend about the struggle of creative fulfillment. The show looks to celebrate all things groovy and beautiful - especially the subtle, the overlooked, and the anthems of subculture. First ep of the show is tomorrow! and will fall on the 2nd tuesdays of each month from 8-10pm pt. Each ep be archived after. You can tune in online if that’s your thing! No worries if not.

About The Event: The Listening Series Editions of Body Tools Sessions are dedicated to deep listening presented on vinyl or live and played for an intimate crowd on a set of vintage DCM Time Window 3 Hi-Fi Speakers in our cozy living room in Highland Park, Los Angeles. These events are powered by DCM Historian, who is dedicated to persevering the speakers of the now defunct DCM brand for generations to come. Their innovative Time Window & Time Frame speakers will be showcased in these pop up listening events in conjunction with the curation of Body Tools International. About the Show: Body Tools Sessions is a live audio video broadcast that happens on the First Saturday of every month from 1pm to 4pm PST on the @vpn.radio . Each episode features a mix by a Body Tools resident on the first hour and a half, and then a special guest mix is featured on the second hour and a half. Once the stream is finished we always post the videos and audio the following week to our archive on SoundCloud, YouTube, & Vimeo.

MY FRIEND __TIM__!!! Cannot describe how excited I am to be playing opening-to-close for the first edition of @_j.db_ ‘s new event series. I think there’s this feeling that DJs have, when you’re digging for songs and you hear this beautiful / interesting track that you love (but it doesn’t fit into the style of the music you’ve been playing recently), and you have to make a decision “do I buy this record or not?” And you get it anyways. And then you daydream about the right time and place and set where you would be able to play that record…. I’m getting to finally play THAT mix that I’ve dreamed of. 6 hrs of my favorite records on a Klipschhorn system. June 8th. Would love to see you there. 📸: @joetvrs
