I’m stoked on how my refinished drum kit stain looks on stage here with Mt Fog. First time I’ve attempted this kind of refurb job on some drums. This shot was taken at our video release at @thesunsettavern for our song “Look Inside” from our soon to be released full LP “Every Stone is Green” I am honestly really excited to share this music with the world. Alright IG algorithm, do your worst.. Promoting music and art on this digital hellscape is having diminishing returns, yet here I am giving it a go. Select Level trio featuring myself on keys/vox/bass/upright bass Noel Brass Jr. keys, and Morgan Dixon on drums perform a rare intimate set at Woodland Theater this June. Every Shade of Green is my sweetie and bandmate from Mt Fog solo project that rules. Problems is really cool/weird, and even Justin Bieber approved (serious) Come feel real life things with us. This will be a one of a kind event, and limited capacity.

So… with the kind assistance of extremely offline label Cave Friend here is the first album on CD. Will have available at our upcoming shows in Seattle, and Orcas Island in May and June. Something in 7. I think there is something sacred about phrases in 7. I’ve written many tunes in 7, and it always feels natural to me. Breathe in and out. Practicing a new instrument I’m not yet consistent performing on. I will be though. #selectlevel
Caught up with Andy just weeks ago at this gig our bands played together. I think it’s the first gig we’ve both been on since about 1994 or 95. I always love running in to Andy around town. We’ve run in similar music scenes since we were kids with many mutual friends. We shared love for so many kinds of music from an early age, and both loved jumping around instruments, and really digging in to the root of the music. Really saddened to hear he is gone. He reminded me of some shenanigans we had back in the punk rock days I had forgotten about, and it made me laugh. We toured the west coast together back in ‘94, and hung out at the Goathouse, and Bellingham. I’ll never forget the 3 big hugs I got from him after our show just weeks ago.
