Born in the dead of the night, second skin embodies the feeling of a nightcap, a comedown after a rave and is designed for those who find beauty in melancholy. Showing a new side of her artistry, stepping away from the high-energy world of dance music to deliver something more atmospheric, raw, and honest. Second skin is a testament to her versatility, love for music and experimentation, pushing the boundaries of genre and self expression. She has debuted in Eora/Sydney at Sugar Glider, supported Trick Pony at the coveted downtempo evening Mezannine, here in Naarm and is gently finding her place in the scene.
Outside of her two aliases she runs AngelFM a community radio show dedicated to building a platform for femmes and POC femmes in music, with a passion for pushing inclusivity in the scene. With anticipated releases on the way, come immerse yourself in the second skin experience.

Night 2 at the Pavilion didn’t so much unfold as dissolve.
@secondskin222 turned the space into a slow-motion liquefaction, bodies slipping out of form, time stretching, edges blurring. People of Pitch melted into the sand, smeared themselves across the walls, pooled into something liminal and collective. It wasn’t a set, it was a state change.
There’s a precision to what she’s doing right now. A recalibration of pop, not abandoned, but submerged. Hooks surface briefly like memory fragments, only to be pulled back under by low-slung basslines and viscous, downtempo pressure. It’s intimate, but not soft. Emotional, but engineered.
As a producer, singer-songwriter, and Naarm-based culture maker, @secondskin222 is carving out a sound that sits in that rare tension point, where underground sensibility meets pop instinct without collapsing into either. The result feels both hyper-contemporary and slightly out of time, like you’ve heard it before but can’t place where.
This wasn’t performance as spectacle.
This was performance as absorption.
A kind of alchemical puddle, where identity, genre, and structure briefly lose coherence… and something more fluid takes over.

second skin is downtempo project of naarm-based musician Nabii, best known for her trancier, dancefloor-focused productions. More recently she's stepping into her guise as a trip-hop chanteuse, producing, performing and singing her ethereal and intimate experimental pop that's carefully crafted and spellbinding. Perfect for a rooftop sunset <3
She'll be bookended by rooftop sets from some of our ongoing favourite selectors - the bleepy chillout-attuned selections of Thread's 𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒐𝒚𝒂𝒏𝒂 and Misc's 𝑮𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒔 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒔; and the graceful flow of naarm-based Texan 𝑮𝒊 𝑮𝒊.

Mezzanine operates as a slow-burn, extended affair, bringing in the new year with a live performance on the roof before settling into downstairs. The club floor will be transformed into lounge mode with DJs playing inbetween live acts from the elevated station of the mezz, before transforming into a downtempo dancefloor for the final hours.
