At the inaugural GIID Global Summit hosted by Tecnológico de Monterrey @tecdemonterrey , Science Gallery International CEO Sarah Durcan joined Mario Adrián Flores Castro, Vice President of the Monterrey Region and General Director of Monterrey Campus at Tec, and Miguel González Virgen, Director of Science Gallery Monterrey @scigallerymty , to highlight how the Science Gallery Network is creating opportunities for new generations of talent to flourish, and helping to animate and democratise innovation ecosystems.
From Atlanta to Bengaluru, London, Melbourne and now Monterrey, each Science Gallery contributing to their city’s dynamic ecosystem of innovation. Science Gallery Monterrey is located in the @distritoinnovacionmty ’s Expedition FEMSA building, home also to several laboratories and institutes.
Julie Wagner, President of the Global Institute on Innovation Districts, noted that the opening of Science Gallery Monterrey was a key reason Monterrey was chosen to host the Summit, where over 300 delegates explored how innovation districts can de-risk, decarbonise, and grow talent.

Transforming inclusive STEAM Education for D/deaf and Hard of Hearing youth 🌏
The pioneering collaboration between Science Gallery Melbourne @scigallerymel and Victorian College For The Deaf, the first of its kind between a gallery and a school for the Deaf, brings bilingual STEAM learning in Auslan and English, transforming the gallery into a classroom like no other.
Since 2021, 30 visits and 830+ student engagements have made Science Gallery Melbourne a dynamic space where D/deaf and Hard of Hearing students actively engage with STEAM through hands-on learning that centres their interests and lived experiences.
By applying STEAM concepts to real-world scenarios, students build independence in scientific thinking and develop 21st-century skills that open up new pathways for their futures.
The collaboration is supported by the Victorian Government through University of Melbourne’s @unimelb STEM Centre for Excellence .

🍍🍏 Experience ‘Your Balanced Media Diet’ at Congreso Futuro in Santiago de Chile, a collaborative project between designer Ross Dowd and Brendan Spillane, researcher at Trinity College Dublin’s @trinitycollegedublin ADAPT Centre @adaptcentre
This interactive installation brings the concept of a ‘media diet’ to life. It features a fridge stocked with food items, each representing Chilean and international news sources across the political spectrum. Visitors are invited to playfully explore and critically reflect on news bias and the ‘healthiness’ of their information consumption habits.
The presentation of ‘Your Balanced Media Diet’ at @CongresoFuturo is a collaboration between the Science Gallery International Network and the Irish Embassy in Chile @irlembchile . The work was commissioned by Science Gallery Dublin and ADAPT.

How can we connect with the remote depths of our seas and oceans to ensure they’re protected?
Meet Emma Critchley, lead artist for Rights of the Deep, a new installation that visualises a co-written open letter by indigenous Pacific activists, marine scientists and legal scholars. The letter explores the need to protect our oceans from deep sea mining through the Rights of Nature, a legal movement which prioritises the intrinsic rights of nature in the eyes of law.
You can see Rights of the Deep in the new exhibition, Vital Signs: another world is possible at Science Gallery London, which explores how the health of the planet is intrinsically connected to our own health.

Innovating STEAM education: the impact of international exchange across the Science Gallery Network ✨
Over several weeks, Jesse Chambers, Deputy Head of Learning Programs at @scigallerymel , Gayatri Manu, Senior Programme Associate, and Shelwyn James S, Learning Associate at @scigalleryblr embarked on an inspiring exchange across their respective locations. T
his exchange marks the beginning of a collaboration to co-create transdisciplinary education programmes designed for students and educators in Australia and India.
Reflecting on the exchange, Gayatri shared, ‘Engaging with colleagues across various international locations expanded our perspectives on building a truly global network that leverages our unique positionalities and local contexts.’ Shelwyn noted, ‘The exchange gave us a chance to come together, start building a community of practice rooted in respect, and reflect on how we can co-create learning programs as a network.’ Jesse added, 'As an educator, Science Gallery provides a classroom like no other, and the Network fosters an unrivalled potential to connect young people in new and exciting ways.'
By sharing expertise, exploring new pedagogical approaches, and fostering meaningful connections across cultures, the exchange exemplifies the strength of the Science Gallery Network in shaping the future of STEAM learning.
