Paradys: When Communities Tell Their Own Stories
If you care about storytelling that actually lands, this one’s for you.
Paradys is not playing safe. It puts identity, representation, and authorship where they belong. Front and centre. Real stories. Real voices. No performance.
We’re getting into what it really takes to tell culturally specific stories that connect, and why audiences can feel the difference instantly.
WHY ATTEND?
Because “authentic” is not a buzzword. It’s the brief.
Come get practical insights on how to build stories that are culturally grounded, emotionally real, and still commercially strong.

FAME Week Africa 🎬 and the South African Screen Federation (SASFED) 🤝 are proud to announce a strategic partnership for 2026, uniting Africa’s go-to creative industries market with the federation that represents a broad spectrum of South Africa’s screen sector. Together, FWA and SASFED will champion a more inclusive and sustainable screen ecosystem 🌍 by creating spaces where producers, writers, directors, performers, crew and service companies can connect, learn and do business.
As the Host City of Cape Town 🏙️ welcomes film, television, animation, music and fashion professionals to FAME Week Africa, SASFED will amplify industry voices and showcase the strength of its member organisations. This partnership is about turning networking into real opportunity 🚀, ensuring that South African stories and talent are visible and ready to meet the world.
Minister Gayton Mckenzie is excited to announce the signing of an amended agreement between South African and Canada in response to the evolving film industry, now embracing new media, animation and television. This is a step forward in ensuring our industry remains at the forefront of innovation.
The Canada agreement remains one of our most active, producing 30 projects since 1997. This partnership continues to open doors for South African films, bringing our talent and stories to North America and beyond.
Through the NFVF-Canada Media Fund, launched in 2018, three projects are approved annually, boosting South African TV series and films. This initiative not only creates jobs but also promotes our heritage and languages on the global stage.
The Canada-South Africa film partnership is a game-changer! It opens doors to global markets, creates jobs, and brings foreign investment into our industry. Our locations, languages, and heritage now have a global stage.
Our co-production treaty with Canada offers immense opportunities: from access to big-budget productions and international festivals to training young filmmakers and showcasing SA talent worldwide. The future of SA film is brighter than ever!
