WE ARE ALL GUESTS HERE 09.03.21 – 01.15.22 @bridgeprojects_la Deeply energized by the entire process of creating newly commissioned work: PRAYER FOR RAIN, Made of collected water from Lake Michigan, Mississippi River, Colorado River, and Castaic Lake. carved clay, carved glass, aluminum. Inspired by the Jewish pilgrimage holiday of Sukkot I embarked on a water pilgrimage. Water is a moving source involved in constant restless pilgrimage. The journey brought me to the banks of rivers, under stars in deserts shapes by water. Water carves, therefore I carve. Sukkot has always been my favorite Jewish holiday this year I celebrated by investigating ancient water ritual through making art elevated my spiritual practice. Sukkot, a layered Jewish holiday, it is a harvest festival where we petition for rain. The holiday is celebrated in a time of abundance looking ahead as we move into a new season into the unknown. We collect the previous years rain water the water was brought on the pilgrimage route to the Temple used to pour out water libations. In Prayer for Raoin water drips slowly from glass water clocks onto dried earth. On the seventh day of Sukkot we recite a prayer for rain that we continue to say daily until Passover. I carved this prayer into the hanging glass water clocks. As fires burn, droughts continue, climates rise, and pipelines are built through clean water sources, and we use more water then the earth can return. Prayer for Rain is a ritual attempt to concentrate on water usage to pray through action. Grateful to share this work alongside such thoughtful artists: Brody Albert, Susy Bielak, Mira Burack, Rael San Fratello, Adam W. McKinney, and Jenny Yurshansky The exhibition is curated by Bridge Projects’ team Cara Megan Lewis @carameganlewis , LinnĂ©a Gabriella Spransy Neuss @linearlinnea , Vicki Phung Smith @artsypanda1 , and Michael Wright With extreme gratitude to the @bridgeprojects_la team your creative vision, hospitality, and artistic support are unmatched and forever have inspired me. Excited to share three carved clay works in my first exhibition in London @huxleyparlour METAMORPHOSIS: ON CLAY March 6 - April 18. Bird Palace, 2026 Carved clay 10 1/2 x 10 1/4 x 2 inches I made this work this past fall @yaddotoday halfway through building it I realized the structure was subconsciously inspired by the magnificent bird palaces I’d admire when I lived in Istanbul. These bird palaces are discretely carved into the sides of stone buildings and offer everything to the birds and the eyes when you remember to look up! AT HUXLEY-PARLOUR 45 Maddox Street London W1S 2PE Hours: Monday to Friday, 11:00am – 5:30pm Saturday, 10:00am – 1:00pm

My heart is so full from my time at @yaddotoday so grateful to have met so many incredible artists, to dance all night, for stars, fires, song, extravagant dinners, readings, exploring the mansion, pool session, having the dreamiest studio, and the best housemate. A week back in reality and I cannot be missing communal living more. Sometimes it’s exhausting being an artist but everything about this experience made me thrilled to be one. đŸŠâ€đŸ”„đŸŠâ€đŸ”„đŸŠâ€đŸ”„ A fair amount of these photos were lifted from the group chat especially Sheri (thanks 🙃)

It’s your last chance today to view SaraNoa Mark’s exhibition “Evaporated Hours”. Visit 12-5 and join us for some drinks and treats 3-5pm for the launch of their gorgeous artist book or order at link in bio. The publication features an essay by @elizabeth.lalley and an interview with @saran0a , excerpted below. “I think as humans we each have orientations – the directions to which we turn our curiosity. Mine face the deep past and the present moment. One of my favorite parts of making art is abolishing the finality of time by inventing ways of traveling through it. When I carve, I can pick up a conversation with Seljuk architecture eight hundred years later. The Chauvet caves were discovered by explorers who were the first humans to set foot in these caves in 20,000 years. They describe the cave paintings feeling as fresh as if they had just been created. They felt the artists’ spirits so clearly present that they wondered if they’d disturbed them. I value the sensation of intimacy that can be forged with an object made thousands of years ago. In my work, I try to stage such a physical encounter with the viewer. My works request closeness, beckoning the body. They offer an invitation to slow down through a visual language that is as much about touch as it is about sight.” - @saran0a
