So honored to see this project shared in @archdigest . After the loss of their home in the Palisades fire, @stylememaeve and @zachquittman invited us into a deeply personal process - one rooted in starting over, but with intention. With nothing to begin from, every detail became an opportunity to build a sense of history, layering in pieces, textures, and materials that feel collected, not newly acquired. We leaned into warmth and quiet depth to complement the mid century architecture- wood paneling wraps the main living spaces, plaster finish walls adding subtle movement, and a balance of vintage and custom elements that give the home its soul. The goal was always to create something that felt grounded, personal, and truly lived-in from day one. There was such ease and alignment throughout. Maeve and her family moved through every challenge with grace- how they carried it left a lasting impression on me. This project, in many ways, reminded me why I love what I do. So honored to see two of our beloved Malibu projects featured on @1stdibs Such a beautifully written and curated article. I’ve always approached design through emotion, believing that a home should move you, grounding you in comfort and calm. Our work is rooted in these ideas that include warmth and function, designed to feel deeply personal. We’re endlessly inspired by natural materials and collected vintage pieces that honor patina of life. Details that lend soul, depth, and a timeless sense of place. Where character influences atmosphere. Antique lighting, modern soul. Aged finishes, patina, and warm light that settles into a space. These are the elements that bring depth and feeling. A warmth that can’t be replicated, only revealed over time. Pieces with a history, casting a softer, more layered light. Design @sarahsolis Photo @michaelcliffordphotography

Mixed metals are always a good idea. The mix of stainless, brass and nickel @lacornueofficial range brings all the elevated elegance of a European bistro kitchen.

London called… Visiting the showrooms along Pimlico road was the highlight. I filled my well and did an absurd amount of sourcing. There are so many good mirrors in England. Could have done without the rainy days, but then it wouldn’t be London.

There are places that restore you quietly. @thyme.england was one of them. An inspiring and luxurious village within a village, spread across beautifully restored 17th-century stone cottages, every part of the experience feels deeply rooted in calm, care, and intention. Meandering garden paths connect each cottage and gathering space, flanked by soft, abundant gardens that make the entire property feel transportive and impossibly serene. Every detail is thoughtfully considered- layered textures, warm lighting, antiques, fresh flowers, fireplaces, and rooms that invite you to slow down and linger a little longer. Moving through the property, you can feel the exceptional attention behind every decision. The landscape itself feels sculptural and grounding, timeless yet quietly innovative all at once. A true reset and study of enduring design. We especially loved Fifi’s Lounge, named after the owner’s darling dog! The on-demand champagne phone is charming, and perfectly in the spirit of the hotel. The iconic sheep seats in the lobby and Baa Bar quickly became our favorite place to gather, and play games with the family in the evening. Every corner is designed for connection. And the food… truly exceptional. The @oxbarn.thyme embraces a beautiful nature-to-plate philosophy, with ingredients sourced directly from their kitchen gardens. A rare place that feels both transportive and grounding- where every detail is thoughtful. Small details, Big Feelings in the Cotswolds. Photos: @renniesolis

Bertioli drenched bedrooms at @thyme.england are layered in prints that reflect the owners personal watercolor paintings inspired by the blossoming landscape of the Cotswolds. They are both charming and cozy and truly unique to an exceptional experience of pattern decor. I’m especially in love with the window seat moments and how the matching pattern on pattern feels calming and artful. @bertioli.by.thyme

A family trip to England to visit the Cotswolds- gathering inspiration for our future English Tudor home and lots and lots of sourcing for projects. Drawn to the historic architecture and natural materials… history, story and patina everywhere you look. But also drawn to the rhythm of daily life. A slower pace, time outdoors, a connection to the land, and spaces that feel lived in and span generations. Being here as a family, experiencing it in real time, brings a different level of understanding. Not just how these spaces look, but how they’re lived in. What makes them feel grounded, lasting, and personal. Grateful for this rare opportunity to carry an authentic perspective home with us as we begin shaping our next chapter.

Overwhelmed with everyone’s interest about the grass. A California native, mow-free grass covers the Pt Dume grounds.  This grass works beautifully around pools, producing very little debris so the water stays clean. It’s also drought-tolerant, fire-resilient, and low maintenance. You never have to mow it.  We’re drawn to it for its ease and calming presence, bringing a sense of softness to the landscape. It’s soft and isn’t poke-y! Comment “grass” if you want our special custom blend and resource.
