“Oh! Hi! Oh my god, I can’t believe I’m seeing you here”, he says, knowing full well that he put on the shortest shorts he could find in the entire city of Key West because he knew his crush would be there this morning.

AND a female dragonfly feigning death to avoid a male?! (I mean, same. 🤷♀️)
Science communication was H-O-T T-O G-O last night during BiodiversiTEASE at @254south12th funding @skypeascientist ! 🔥 This event was a great reminder that sustainability is for EVERYONE! Plant native plants from @goodhostplants , sign up for a Rain Check workshop to receive a FREE rain barrel from @phillyh2o , learn from science educators like @sarahmackattack , get a street tree with @phillytreepeople or spread art depicting native species from @megstampede ! 🌎
The world and *gestures to everything* feels dark sometimes but our hope and our power as a community is stronger. And sustainability can be SO FUN!! So find what works for you, talk with your friends about it and let’s protect this frecken cool planet. 🫡🌎💚

Attention Science Communicators!
In collaboration with @whysharksmatter and @drjuliawester , we are conducting a research study on the landscape of science communication & need your help gathering experiences.
Science communication is an incredibly diverse field, and we want to summarize what is happening, how well people are surviving on science communication as a career, and where we need help as a field.
For this survey we are defining science communication as work that is done:
• by a technical subject area expert in some field related to science, technology, engineering, or mathematics,
• outside of classroom settings
• aimed at the public
If you are 18 years of age or older and work or recently worked in this field (full-time, part-time, or as a side project), please click the link below to complete a short survey. If you are interested in learning more about this research study, please e-mail us at [email protected]. In the body of your email please provide your full name, and if you would prefer to be contacted by phone, your phone number and the best time to reach you. Contacting us for more information does not commit you to participating, and should you decide to participate you may terminate your participation at any time.

RIP @eltoro215
Justin was one of the first people I met in the Philly street art scene. He was one of the most genuinely warm and welcoming people I have ever encountered. His enthusiasm for the art of stickering and encouragement to jump in with two feet made it feel like anything was possible and everyone’s contribution was important.
Losing Justin is a massive blow to our community and Philly as a whole. His bright style and personality will be sorely missed. 💔
“Hey Sarah, how’s the writing going?”
“Oh! Uhhh…good! Last night I set up an elaborate photoshoot for my cat. She looks really beautiful, right? It’s like she just got engaged, you know? So, yeah. Yeah. Writing is going good.”
